anyone else have to hold back a chuckle when she said, “the next trick is the limp” and she was holding a blunt object?

Love the idea to use a target stick for 'limp'! I've just very recently started working on 'limp' with my dude, so im very glad I saw this now. I'm pretty certain that switching it up a bit to incorporate the target stick is going help make things go a lot smoother for us. Thanks for that!

Have also used a scrunchie to teach the hide your head or cover. Rewind or any of these tricks would be great for freestyle or even as a demo for a therapy dog session. Awesome video - TY for the demo and ideas!

so I did the limp trick with my aussie-pit mix but the thing is she's an adventurous ranch dog so she'll do it randomly if a say anything near "limp" like "hurt, gimp, etc." so I've spent like 400 dollars in total on vet bills because I can't tell whether or not she's actually limping😶🥲my poor wallet

I have 2 questions please: how do you make your dog hold the cover position? and second - the rebound trick - wouldn´t it be easier for the dog if the surface is non-slip?

Head position controls hind quarter positioning. Turn head more to shoulder on outside of the circle and her hind will come towards you .

Can you train Vizsla and achieve same results my dog seems so stubborn and doesn’t want to learn and usually forget even after a lot of repetitions
@GiantParfait2 жыл бұрын
If your dog isn't excited to train, maybe make sure they have been walked and fed so they're not distracted, and that they're excited for highly reinforcing treats (some dogs like cheese, some refer meat, etc) Maybe build confidence with easier tricks first.
@ezzathanna12 жыл бұрын
@@GiantParfaitthank you he is excited to learn and like cheese a lot but, I am struggling with come command he comes only if he know I have food otherwise stubborn :(
@GiantParfait2 жыл бұрын
@@ezzathanna1 my favorite trainer gave me advice before, if the dog doesn't want to do tricks without obvious food reward. Go ahead and say, 'come' and give treat. We repeat this but add to it. Like: Say 'come' and when they get to you, take a step back and say 'come' again. Just one step but you gave two commands. Then feed treat. Most dogs will follow an extra command if it's this simple. Then you can work in farther and longer duration and move to other tricks. If you'd like to see a similar great trainer, I follow one here on KZbin, the name of her channel is Kikopup. Good luck with your training, working on it daily will really help!

It could be that your sessions are for too long or too much is being asked for. Start with low criteria, for a short duration (maybe it’s just for two minutes). Use rewards they’ll enjoy, and then take a break, before the next short session. Only minimally increase the challenge after the dog can continue to do successful repetitions, and don’t be afraid to go back to previous steps if needed.

watching a shepherd do this compared to a ACD.. is like slow motion... training a ACD is cheating compared to other breeds.
