What if a dog only goes until half of the way and then turns back to the opposing side to get to the treat, and just Söhnchen not want to fully roll over the back?

Love this video. I have a Border Collie who I have taught many tricks. This video was exactly what I needed. I have been wanting to add most of the tricks on this video to her training, but had a hard time figuring out how to teach them to her. This video explains exactly what I needed to start with. Super excited to start teaching her the new tricks. Thank so much for this video 😊.

My vet very nicely asked me about my plan for my 4 month old Aussie Shepherd. I had never thought of a plan. I told her he is the star of our puppy class thanks to following your videos. She told me to keep up the good work but he would need much more than my 2 mini schnauzers required. She suggested trick training because he so enthusiastic and easily focused. I swear you tube was listening because when i got home your 3 part trick training came up in my feed as well as building toy drive. She also suggested I join her at the rally obedience club she belongs to - she is training a puppy the same age as mine. She has done CKC obedience for 30 years and said it was time to take the stick out of her a#% and have some fun with her new puppy. Now I have plan.

Awesome video! I hope to see more tricks from this trainer. Would love to learn the sit pretty trick
@cyberdev20002 жыл бұрын
The sit pretty trick could be performed as follows. Sit, then offer a treat closely above her head in a slow-motion toward her tail, so she follows your hand, the very second she lifts her paws even a little, reward. If she lifts her butt, ask for a helper to hold her butt down, progress over a few goes until sitting pretty, then when you are happy with her position say the command 'sit pretty' or whatever you wish to say and reward. Repeat until you don't need to show the lure. You can also, at the same time ease the lure and turn it into a hand signal, that way your dog will show off a nice trick without you speaking. This is the way I have taught it to my dogs, I'm sure there are also other methods, but if this helps?

One of the first tricks I taught my dog was your "bang bang!". I've recently taught her to roll over by getting her to play dead first, then lure her into the roll. She's great at rollover! The issue is that she goes straight into a rollover now when I give the "bang bang" command. Oops. Great video by the way. I will be teaching my girl all of these :)

This is great! What part of Georgia are you located in? Also, I was wondering if a Belgian Malinois could be able to do a handstand or are they not compact enough to get and keep their body in that position? I've mostly seen that in small dogs or dogs who have a short body, so I was curious about that.

It would be nice to see a video of actually training a dog these tricks and not showing tricks your dog already knows. This dog already knows basically exactly what she wants... there isn't any behavior shown of what to do when you dog does such and such during training . However, good video. But it would be nicer to see it in action when a dog was actually learning and didn't already know it all.

Is that a German Shepherd / Australian Cattle dog? I bet it is an awesome guard dog! And, this may be completely beside the point, or maybe right on track, but it actually occurs to me that to give a guard dog the "Perch" command would be an awesomely wicked-trick thing to really scare the crap out of an intruder or attacker.

@ozdogwoman2 жыл бұрын
@@goldenatlas990 Yes it looks the type however ACD's are sturdy, full bodied dogs, much closer to the ground with amazing agility and turning circles. Stumpy's have the particular tail of this one. ACD's have a full very thick tail unless this one was injured and had to be docked. Bred in Australia they do have some dingo characteristics in the red ones. Not disagreeing with you. You might look up the breed standard for clarification. :-) He is very well trained and I love his enthusiasm. They are great competition obedience dogs here. Great job Maureen.

I love these videos and these dogs. My boy is a half Aussie shepherd and half blue heeler. He is almost a whole year old and loves to do tricks as well. We got the shake command down. Even a switch to were he will give me his other paw. He loves tennis balls more then treats though. He will run his brothers over just for a tennis ball.

That dog is just performing anything, while you're talking, just to get a treat outta ya! "Look at me, I'm doin' stuff, see? 9:34 that's not really great advice with APBT & AmStaffs & Boxers, maybe even bullmastiffs and mastiffs, If they get a treat because you fumbled it or gave it when they had not completed or done it correctly that is the way they will do it forever more because that is what got rewarded...whether by fate and opportunistic advantage... whatever If they get that treat and they haven't done the thing... that's it. It takes a lot of resetting it takes a lot of time and you might not ever get that dug to do it right because they remember - like an elephant!

This is amazing but I want to see the training with a dog that hasn't already been training. This doesn't help at all with what to expect and how to handle the things my dog does while training. It actually sort of makes me personally, feel like I'm failing. Like, why I cant get my dog to understand it right away. What am i doing wrong that my puppy does 4 different things before finally getting it. I cant seem to find videos that have 'raw' pups being trained.
@nicolausisco11 ай бұрын
well, whats the command of roll over. when do says that? // how to get your dog to jump in general? the first steps are not taught.
@kaidasnelling42802 ай бұрын
I’d ad the marker word “roll over” (or my personal word is flop 😂) once you notice the dog is not resisting to rolling as much. They’ll likely have a hard time in the first few reps, standing up, crawling to get the reward, etc. so when the dog is not resisting I’d add that command. Second, for the jump trick, I’d recommend starting with a stick or something. Lay it on the floor, use a leash, and encourage the dog to walk over it to the treat. Slowly raise the stick (use a helper or even two chairs to hold the stick/bar/pole) and continue to use the leash to guide the dog over the stick with lots of eager encouragement. Once it’s high enough that you can replace stick with your arm and dog knows the “jump” cue, do what she does by putting your arm against the wall and cue the word. You’ll probably encounter some confusion so I’d still use a helper with the leash to guide the dog from the other side for the first few reps.
