Thank you for watching our son, Nate's Honor Walk. Our family has been so inspired by the outpouring of love for Nate and by Nate himself and the support that he offered others, that we started a non-profit, 501c3, in his name called, Nate's Place, A Wellness and Recovery Center.
Please watch this very short second video to learn a bit more about Nate, how he died, his life and the non-profit: • Video
If you are so inspired, please also look at our Betterworld fundraising site: natesplace.betterworld.org/ca...
Please become an organ donor to save lives!!!
Thank you for sharing this with others if you feel inspired to!!
Warmly,
The Family and Friends of Nate Rhoades

And we all seem to complain over the trivial things in life. All i can say is this..god blessed me with 71 yrs of life, ive been close to death many times, yet im still here. Consider yourselves lucky when we watch sad videos of young innocent beautiful souls leaving us too early, and above all when you feel the need to complain about the little things in life that you can overcome unlike this one? Look back at this story and count your blessings.😢.and never forget to pray everyday for your friends, family, strangers and even your enemies..thank god for helping you with your day, helping you sleep and thanking him for waking you up to see another day. And help your neighbor a homeless person or anyone thats struggling cause god will bless you 10 fold.and hes watching us all so do it with a kind heart.. does god exist? Trust what im saying, cause yes he does.. he appeared to me in 1975.

@@toades54 I’m so very sorry. My deepest condolences. Your video was so beautiful and you could just feel how loved, respected and needed he was . He was a good person even giving in death through organ donation. My brother was murdered in 2004 eight days after his 17th birthday. He was on life support for four days before being declared brain dead. We donated his organs . It’s a hard decision but I’m glad we did it as parts of him still live on. I still miss him dearly and although his loss is several years passed now the pain is still there. It does get easier but it never goes away. My 30 yr old niece had a heart transplant exactly 4 weeks ago today. She looks so healthy now. Even though she is covered in massive bruises, drainage holes all over her abdomen, a cut from her collar bone to her stomach, giant holes on both sides of her neck, she's looks so good! Her skin is a normal color, her face has filled in- its so amazing. It was a bit rough for a few days as the new heart wouldn't kick in. She was on an ECMO and had fluid build up( which is somewhat common because her old heart was so enlarged). But she's home now, and able to walk around a bit. She has 3 young children who would not have a mother today if a parent/ spouse had not made the decision to donate their loved one's organs. It's an incredible thing to give life to someone. So thank you and God bless.

@@toades54 I am a medevac nurse of 20 plus years and see both sides. The ones that donate and the ones that receive the donations. We often fly patients that can’t be helped anymore. We fly them to hospitals where their loved ones are waiting and you see parents age 30 years within a matter of minutes. Then we transport organs to patients and their families are waiting. You go from one extreme to another. Some have waited years and are at the edge of deaths door. The hope, life and possibilities, the gift your son has given can’t be measured or explained with words. I hope that one day you will meet the people that your baby has saved. It won’t lessen your pain but it will remind you that not everything was in vain. Nathan means “ gift of god” and although you didn’t know when he was given his name how much he would come to be just like his name. He left this world like a true Nathan by giving the gift of god to many. There is absolutely nothing that I can say to parents that have lost their child. Nothing will express the excruciating pain you will feel until you all meet again, Therefore please take my lack of condolences and lack of comforting words as my way of honoring the sacrifice Nathan and all of you have made. He won’t be forgotten and people from all over the world that have never met your son will remember him and your family. You are in my prayers.

I was in the OR with an organ donor only once. It was virtually identical to any major operation. The monitoring was different, of course, and the anesthesiologist had less to do. The atmosphere was perhaps best described as reverential. Most, perhaps all, seemed to have tears in their eyes. I did. Everyone was very attentive to the patient. I would beg everyone to be organ donors.

I hate all kind of deaths, but for me the most moving donors are kids, and young people, which you see have been so young, so "new", beautiful, strong and still with a little twinkle in their eyes that remind me that they were kids not so long ago. It's horrible. It's so surreal, so hearbreaking and at the same time, so hopeful see your loved one recover from the surgery, whereas you know that somewhere else some family is utterly destroyed, trying to just understand a "why" which will never come to mind, no matter the cause of the demise. I remember clearly have all these thoughts the first time I saw my mum's new kidney taking and expelling blood in the ecography, just a few hours after the operation. I had to get out of the icu box and cry. I thank everyday that unknown donor and his or her family. Here in Spain there are no such things like walks of honor. We have assumed very quickly that it's the best we can do when we no longer need the organs. The fact that there is no money involved for nobody - I mean the health system, or rather, health insurance companies above all, bc it's strictly forbidden by the law - helps us to think it's really a present to another, unknown human being. However, I think the family deserves some kind of acknowlegment for the great sacrifice they have made. Anyway, what I really wanted to say is this : Thanks from the bottom of my heart to all donors and their families. TRULY. FOR EVER. YOU ARE INCREDIBLY GENEROUS, AND YOU AND YOUR LOVED ONE WILL ALWAYS BE REMEMBERED. Also, if you allow me to say so, a BIG THANK YOU too to all the staffs who make possible this miracle.

I wish they had honor walks back then bc it would have meant so much to my sister. God Bless Nathan and my nephew Joshua who brought life out of death. And God Bless the families who are also heroes.
