Yesterday I finally had the opportunity to try Flambient in 2 empty town houses. Only to come home and cry because I couldn't figure out how to match the ambients to my flash colors. This tutorial literally gave me a renewed sense of confidence in this craft. Thank you so so so much for sharing! Your tutorials are invaluable to me and I can't wait to show you how I've grown because of them.

Hey Nathan, just wanted to say I love your videos. I'm just getting into RE photography and I'm really getting a lot out of starting from your first videos and working my way through to current date. Thanks a bunch!

Excellent video addressing one of the most challenging topics - accurate color!

Have to give you a big thanks for the match color tip. Had a crazy light sculpture shadow on the ceiling from my flash and when I tried to flambient the layers, the color of the shadow from the ambient layer in luminosity mode was a hideous yellow. Match coloring the layers did the trick. :)

Great video! What if one has to do a composite with multiple flash pops blended in post, does one have to do a grey card shot for each area that gets lit? Or would one grey card shot from the light closest to camera suffice?

Hi Nathan. Thank you for all of your great tutorials. Can you please tell me what brand that grey card is?
@jeffellis65444 жыл бұрын
Nice technique. And a handy tool to have. But out of curiosity, why not do a gray card shot for the ambient too at the beginning?
@NathanCoolPhoto4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Ambient is only used in Luminosity mode so color doesn't matter, and, you'd never be able to dominate a consistent WB without using flash. I cover this in much greater detail in my interiors book, here's a link if you'd like to check that out: www.amazon.com/dp/B0755KXSL4

Nathan, great tutorial. Question: when you take ambient shot, do you turn off all the light? I normally do base on what Wayne Cappeli suggested but have issue with wb of hard shadow of ceiling fan or brightness of a ceiling light. I did what you suggested here in the video to correct the color but no luck so I thought maybe turning the light off caused that issue and wanna hear your opinion.

Nathan. These videos are awesome! Do you perform color matching on most of your work for real estate? Is it an action for you?

I grey card one shot for each paint color.

Nathan, is there a grey card you can recommend?
@NathanCoolPhoto5 жыл бұрын
There are tons of foldable fabric ones, which tend to reflect less than shiny cards, but the smaller cards fit nicely into your pocket to carry around. You really can't go wrong either way.

Hello Nathan, what sort of minimum requirements would you suggest when choosing a IPS monitor for editing? I mean size? ,resolution? does 4K matters a lot in photo editing? Cheers Femy
@NathanCoolPhoto7 жыл бұрын
4K doesn't matter to me, any IPS monitor would do, I work in sRGB so color space is rather forgiving

I shoot in Raw and Rgb, then I edit my file in photoshop and I save as JPEG. Is it wrong to convert the jpeg file in Srgb? Does change something?
