I can't believe that they missed the biggest pop culture item! The greatest monster of all time. GODZILLA!! He was created as a result of atom bombs and the original Japanese movie was very influenced by the fear of another bomb being dropped and the result of the explosion

It's awesome they let you go through it even when they were closed. I was still using an ipod about 3 or 4 years ago and people would examine it like it was an ancient artifact. Lol I also remember using floppy disks in my first grade class and playing games on them to learn. Remember, in some older movies and TV shows they once held the key to saving the world. Lol

I remember my mom and dad talking about " Atom and Eve" tours...where newlyweds would make a road trip to see test sites, or get as close to them as you legally could. One of my uncles saw several above ground atomic tests, at various distances. That museum would be interesting! I want to go on a " Out West" road trip...that will definitely be a stop.

That was really cool of them to let you in even though it was closed. It is free publicity for them given your viewership. The uranium in children's testing sets is not surprising. There was a company in The area that made a fortune selling home Geiger counters to encourage would be prospectors to search for uranium deposits in thier own back yards, and thier was a company selling dishware that had used uranium in thier paints. A lot of ladies that painted the dishes wound up dying of cancer due to the painters habit of restoring the tips of thier paint brushes by pressing flattening it with thier lips. The Robot from Lost in Space was technically designated as B-9. It's original purpose was environmental analysis and defense. The Robinson family simply addressed him as Robot, Dr. Smith of course had a whole slew of insults for the Robot!
@chuckoneill2023
@chuckoneill2023 3 жыл бұрын
The Lost in Space robot was officially "B9", but within the show it was just referred to as the robot. Personally, I think it looked very different than Robbie (Robbie still exists, it has shown up on many other shows and movies, it was even in Lost in Space episode).

I remember one time I saw this documentary about the workers who would out and pick up all the parts, debris, etc. after a test bomb was dropped. The images they showed and what happened to these people were alarming. They did get some kind of compensation for what happened to them...but it wasn't enough. There's a gentleman in the film they are interviewing...but you never see ALL of him....then they pull back the camera at the end....and you see he has this MASSIVE arm/hand.....It made you think....
