Isn't 18 still the age that you can serve in the Canadian military? Is Laurier saying that someone can be adult enough to put their life on the line for their country, but not adult enough to listen to Peterson in a classroom?

Worse than that. He's saying 18 year olds are not mature enough to watch a video of a debate aired on public TV! (The clip was from 'The Agenda' with Steve Paikin a highly respected award winning program, aired on 'TV Ontario' - an educational public broadcaster).

Sexual orientation is taught in sex-ed classes ages 10 and up in Canada(grade 5 is the earliest I believe, gender identity is taught at ages 13-14 grade 7 or 8), you allowed to make irreversible changes to your body's sex at ages 16, but at 18 they're still too young to _watch_ a civilized debate...

@Simon As I understand it, the disgusting worm we hear on the tape is another one of the teachers at the school. He's a piece of shit and a manipulative bully who shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a school, or developing minds. I'm guessing your point is the entire school is of the same gross mindset as him so why would they fire him? My response in that case would be, route the entire school.

Listening to that really creeps me out. Not only is this completely out of order for LS, it's also incredibly insulting to the students in that class, who the guy dismisses as being too immature to understand the context and cope with the subject matter. He was proved otherwise by the fact that there were actually no complaints.

Honestly he comes across like one of those people who enjoys picking a person to try to turn everyone else against and then being the big brave hero who stops the bad guy. I sometimes wonder he was the one who initiated all of this by fabricating a complaint because he enjoys feeling powerful and Lindsay was just an easy target because she's younger and at a lower job position with less seniority than him. There is plenty to be scared about hearing that audio but the quote you've selected is not one of them. He's not saying that people do not have the right to an opinion, he's saying that not all perspectives on a given topic are valid-he's right about that. For example, the flat earth theory is not valid when trying to explain/understand geomagnetic poles. The problem though concerns the framing and characterisation of the 'sides of this debate', (as being identical to discussing the flat earth theory in the context I mentioned) and the link the speaker is attempting to make between the pronouns issue, and the (kind of) example I cited.
@hen2005
@hen2005 2 жыл бұрын
@@desoliver9712 I guess it depends how you want to word it. I think the flat earth model is a valid attempt to explain geography (maybe not geomagnetic poles) but it just doesn’t hold up much under scrutiny and when compared to experimental data. I guess what you’re trying to say is that everyone can individually decide how much weight to put on something someone says, all the way from invalid to completely agree. What I meant was all opinions should be voiced and heard, discussed and criticised etc.

And another thing, if no one actually complaint , then how those yahoos find out and started the Inquisition ? Methink that still, some student complaint or just comment, and Grand Inquisitor jump on the opportunity to show his masters how decisive he is in rooting out any different opinion . And that poor bugger student got scared and pull his head in and did not confirm further on. So, the two losers just wanted to make a point , point they just badly wanted to win . I have gender neutral friends and gay family, we TRY to use pronouns such as "they" or "them" but when I slip up and use a he/she they don't lose their minds and tell me I've wounded how they see themselves; and honestly anyone that does makes me think that it isn't the way they're addressed they have a problem with, it's because they have problems with themselves as a humans.

I know you are probably just trying to be polite, but you are indulging them in their delusion every time you say ‘they, them’ when referring to their individual pronouns. The fact that you slip up and accidentally call them ‘he/she’ demonstrates that you know there’s no such thing as a “gender-neutral person”. I know you think you’re being a good/kind friend by doing this, but if you truly care about these individuals you would tell them the truth, which is that they are suffering from gender identity disorder and probably need some form of psychiatrical help. The last thing you should be doing is encouraging their false belief that they can identify as another gender.

"They don't have the critical tool kit to take it apart yet, a KZbin video. Yet they do have the critical tool at 3 years old in some cases to have full cognitive competence as to what they're gender is, and a full and indiscriminate transition to transsexuality, interesting. 3 year olds cognitively, emotionally maturely sound. 18 year olds, lack the tool kit. Perfect rational

"Causing harm to trans students" Are you fking kidding me? A stiff breeze that blows in their directions would somehow hurt their feelings. There is nothing that will NOT hurt their feelings when it comes to their identity. Heck watch some of their videos. They themselves are not even sure what to call themselves and what to be offended at... so they get offended at EVERYTHING
