Ok so I see a lot of comments on this. For those who don’t know what’s happening the guy on the bmc is one of the most successful riders in the pack. What he is doing is creating a safe place for his team to ride of you notice guys diving under everyone that’s more dangerous than the bumping that’s happening. There is no respect in the peloton anymore therefore we crash a lot more when individual guys come up for no reason there’s an hour left in the race and he is not with his team meaning he shouldn’t be there. That’s pack etiquette.
@jetBlue_836 ай бұрын
Thanks for breaking it down Corey. Like someone said on my earlier comment, it’s hard to know what’s happening in the race resulting in the choices and actions riders take. What seems dramatic on video might actually be quite chill in reality; I guess it looks different when different riders do it. Thanks again!

I get your point but respect is a two way street. Aevolo is one of the best teams in the country yet the Disruptors rider acted like they had no business being near the front. I understand fighting for position, but body checking people is completely uncalled for. Why does he have justification to be at the front and the other riders don’t?

Creating a “safe space” for his teammates by doing dangerous body checking which is endangering all of the other racers does not seem logical or make sense. It’s one thing to hold your position and lean into a rider who is leaning on you, but to just intentionally body check a rider and completely move them off their line just because you want the wheel they are drafting on, or you feel they don’t deserve to be in that position is not good or ethical racing. It’s dangerous! You don’t see this blatant and dangerous body checking happening in racing in Europe, and those racers are some of the best cycling talent in the world. The UCI would not stand for this, and they would definitely be issuing some DQs. If you want a specific position in a race, you need to earn it by being a better rider than your competition and not by doing dangerous body checking. That’s how you make the racing safer for everyone.

The guy from the Disruptors Team wearing the black kit and riding the red BMC needs to go play hockey instead of racing bikes. He committed so many flagrant and intentional body and elbow checks to other riders during the race which could have caused some serious crashes. People complain about L39ION and the Williams brothers racing aggressively, and they suspend Justin Williams multiple times, but this guy is allowed to continue racing without any punishments or suspensions? WTF!??? Apparently, there are two sets of rules and standards in cycling.

For the longest time, teams have respected the legion train. No one would dare to try to dive in, if they Did you would see Justin push them into the barriers or push them out of the line. You can see teams are not scared to take on the legion train. They will dive or break up the lines. You see it in the pro tour, guy in the Red bmc is doing exactly what Justin would be doing for Cory. But newer riders ain’t afraid to take on the risk. It’s part of racing now, people have to adapt

You would think with all the videos you post, your following would by now understand the dynamics of crit racing but that doesn't seem to be the case. I guess on the flip side I'd rather have them post their opinion vs being in the peloton. I've done a few pro races as a retired guy now and I agree, the skill level isn't there which often leads to guys like you saying there is a lack of respect, though I think that is the case, I think the real issue is the skillset isn't as high as it use to be.
