I'm so happy with these gains! I've really been enjoying my hair in every stage and really miss my hair when it was shorter. If you're on a hair growth journey, try to enjoy your hair at every length (even when you may kinda hate it lol). It will make the process way more enjoyable. If you're growing your hair out, how's it goin?

I've been stuck at armpit length for over 4 years now. My hair is thick but the crown of my head is stubborn and won't grow as fast or I'm having trouble maintaining the ends because they have never reached past the tops of my shoulders. I think at this point I should call it genetics and just be happy with the length I have (I love it don't get me wrong) but I'll never get it as long as yours. I was in a private race with you. lol Back when you first started your hair was at my length and I said I was going to race you to see if we could grow our hair at the same time but no. You beat me. :D

My healthy hair journey is going well! I started out later in life, post-menopausal, and even with the challenges that come with that stage of life, my hair is healthier than it was when I was in my 30’s. I can’t wait to see how far I can go!

This is definitely an inspiration and very motivational for me as I've been trying to grow out my natural hair from armpit length to FINALLY reaching bra strap length for the first time in my life. I have definitely been slacking in taking care of my hair as my growth has been stuck at the same length all year (I started trying to grow it out in January). Seeing you and other beautiful naturals have inspired me once again to continue trying and update my regimine!

Thank you!! I just chopped half my hair off in May & Im feeling really great about it but also Im scared it won’t grow longer like I want it too. I don’t know my curl pattern because its different curly all over! Then the front part is a straighter curly that I cannot stand. Im scared to go to a naturalist for them to get scissor happy. But Im just gonna keep trimming myself until I find someone. Again this is still all new to me!!

I've been waiting for this video. I happy for you with on your progress. Your hair really grown fast. My hair has been the same length since last year. I am happy with the overall health of my hair. I cant wait to see your hair reach waist length. Do you feel like you gained back your hair texture, like your texture before you use the system to straight your hair? or do you feel like it's not all the way there? I know you grew it out so it should be back the old hair texture.

Do you think hair porosity and skin type is link to each other? I noticed ppl with low porosity has dry skin issues and ppl with high porosity has oily scalp, and oily skin? I have at scalp dermatitis with low porosity hair and I suffer from eczema on located areas of the body and sensitive skin. I looked at both skin and hair care lines they recommend protein free and fragrance free for dry scalps and low porosity hair. Do you think hair porosity, skin moisture levels and scalp Moisture levels are link to each other? Some reason I cannot find research for this. I know our skin Undertones is the same rule of thumb and undertones is basically the same for the rest of our body such as our eye color and hair color.

I have kinky hair too. It's not super thin, but on the thin side. I've found that with my kinky hair, most length is lost with mechanical damage during styling. Do you only manipulate your hair when it's damp or wet? Do you detangle under running shower water? I used to exclusively finger-detangle, but I recently bought a tool similar to the tangle teaser, and it is just as gentle as finger detangling; and a whole lot faster. Do you utilize low manipulation styles like twist outs and rod sets that will allow you to go without combing on your hair for 1-2 weeks? What about protective styles (braids, wigs, crochet) where you can leave your hair without combing for 1-2 months? At the end of the day, healthy hair is more important and looks better than long unhealthy hair. I'm sure your hair is beautiful. I highly recommend Nappyfu's channel. She has really healthy 4c hair and shares lots of valuable info. The only thing I disagree with her about is shampooing the entire length of my hair. I believe doing this periodically with a sulfate-free clarifying shampoo is critical to removing buildup to let that deep conditioner properly penetrate. Good luck on your hair journey!

@ecstaticblues

I have two kids that are both under two and I’m having the hardest time figuring on to do with my hair. If I leave natural I have to leave it in a ponytail because I really do have the time to do a twist out or maintain it and thing washing it becomes a chore. Also it’s been very hard to keep it moisturized because I’m so busy with everything that by the time I get to I’m so worn out. This often just leaves my hair very dry. I’ve been straightening(which I hate) because it’s easier to just to put it into two French braids or a bun. What do you think about box braids? Will it help my hair or just cause damage?

Excellent growth! Did you deal with high porosity due to the chemical/heat damage? If so how did you improve it? I had heat damage and cut my hair about 7-8 inches (1.5 years ago) but my porosity and texture is not how it was before the heat damage.

No, I started over when I did my second big chop. I honestly neglected my hair for a period of time. I was going to bed without moisturizing and sealing everyday and my hair suffered. Deep conditioning, using products that were mostly natural and consistently moisturizing may hair every day restored the health.
