Mega Press is a quick and clean way to install gas piping, but you need to install a union between the gas stop and the appliance.

hi, do you have to open 3 way valve to flush the chemicals out from space heating system?
@ChuckBarron4 жыл бұрын
No they are separate.

@@ChuckBarron thanks, but I saw some videos on youtube, when the person was trying to pump chemical into space heating coil, it didn't come out, he said because 3 way valve was shut?

@@GammaDopplerr, I had the same problem with not being able to flush the heating side. Do you have a link to the video where he refers to opening the 3 way valve?

took a minute, missing a union on that gas line. im curious to hear if there are pro press unions that would be interesting. I haven't used pro press yet but im getting the chance to in a few weeks at a potash mine. all the mines in the area are hot and horny for pro press cause you don't need to solder/hot work permits, so I cant wait to experience the game changer.
@ChuckBarron6 жыл бұрын
Yes....Good eye plumber. I was like dam you idiot....I started at valve and worked backwards and when I was done with gas I said oh crap.....gonna have to use a flex I think. I will check on unions for sure.

The pro press is the absolute way to go now, you can press everything all coppers, black iron everything, and they will keep coming up with more. I Think it should become the standard at some pioint soint, that or sharkbiite push on pex, believe it not Im in new england my climate has a big influence on this opinion.

It’s mega press not pro press.

No coils in a navian fella , DHW heat exchanger plate, Maine exchanger stainless box small parallel tubes burner above, If you fit a filter on the heat return, and cold water supply you will stop the crap entering the boiler..😉

I have had many issues with the burner gasket leaking on the heat exchanger. By spraying the top of the heat exchanger, above ignition rods and across front, with leak detector upon start up, you can see how much gas is actually leaking through. This cannot be "fixed" by tightening the 3 screws, Navien will swap out heat exchanger if still under 10 year warranty. This leak will eventually damage the fan, damage the interior of the cabinet and ruin proper combustion. Most units checked do not pass inspection.

Go with high efficiency boiler and a indirect water tank. And don’t go with Navien. Go with lochinvar.

If you had three hoses you could do both sides at the same time - pump to domestic in, domestic out to heater in, heater out to bucket. Fresh water rinse both at the same time too. About an hour for the job. Charge 1.5 hour + materials. Teach one of your apprentices to do it and you will make some money.
@ChuckBarron6 жыл бұрын
Great idea....I was so focused on doing both coils separate I could of did em both together. I would have to ask tech support first but I don't why I could not. I like all those ideas Todd. Thank you for sharing
@throttlebottle59066 жыл бұрын
you should never flush/clean both into the same bucket/cleaner, for the fact of cross contamination. you never know whats in the "heating side" nasty bugs and high concentrations of heavy metals is possible and flushing afterwards can still leave the domestic side contaminated...........
@throttlebottle59066 жыл бұрын
also good trick is using panty hose or some cheese cloth on the hose coming back to bucket to filter it somewhat ( yes you can go crazy and use high pleated filters setups) ;)

oh ok...so you dont mix it back into system.....well it could act like flying brillo pad as it cleans.....lol

@throttlebottle59066 жыл бұрын
side note, you should use separate flushing chemical/fluid from heating to domestic side. or make sure to do the domestic side first. don't want possible contaminates from heating into domestic. even with good flushing you never now, if the heating system never nears the 140F mark, it could be chock full of nasties :)

woah 4 to 5 years, the water must not be that bad then, or it's not used heavily. Many areas here it would have been plugged beyond cleanable within 1 year! nothing like bi-yearly+ cleaning or adding mage costly filtering (yes, I usually suggest they convert back to standard tanks) the closed loop/hydronic heat side shouldn't be that bad if there's no leaks and no make-up water always entering. domestic side yikes!
