(I'm going to Vienna next month and I can't wait :) ) Can you suggest me the best cafès to try the Sachertorte? :) Online I've found cafè Sacher and Demel but I've like to have some suggestions from a local to try less touristic places, thanks

Almost every cafe and restaurant sells Sachertorte. However, the original one can only be enjoyed at Demel or Sacher. Personally, I prefer Demel :) You can purchase cakes at these places to take away, so you can avoid queuing up for a table at the cafe. I've actually made a video comparing the two cakes, in case you're interested in watching it! They are really good as well, usually less crowded, and they have a few shops in Vienna, allowing you to pick one in a less congested area.

i am going to vienna this october but i need your guidance on how to go from vienna airport to ibis sankt marx. is it by using S7 or OBB train? Is there any day pass that i can buy since i am going to danube tower and innere stadt and back to the ibis sankt marx

Hi! You can search for the best connection using google maps, the öbb app or the Wien Mobil App. The app will only suggest S7 from the airport to st. marx. Then I would recommend using the Wien Mobil App, and book a day ticket for vienna directly in the app. Then buy a seperate ticket from the airport to vienna (using either the oebb app or one of the ticket vending machines at the airport) and declare, that you already have a ticket for Vienna. -This way you will pay less for your connection from the aiport to vienna.

You just show the ticket in the app as mentioned at 02:21. You don't need to scan the ticket when boarding the tram/bus/subway. You just have to show your ticket, when you get checket by a ticket inspector (the do random checks).

Hi, I'm going to Vienna for 5 days. Can I purchase the 72-hour ticket in the mobile app and buy the airport->city center ticket at the airport when I arrive? And do I have to activate the tickets?

Yes this would be a good option! If you buy your 72 hour ticket in the app, you dont have to activate it seperately. just make sure, you select the correct time, when you want to use it. And if you buy your ticket at one of the ticket automats at the airport, dont forget to select, that you already have a ticket for Vienna. -The ticket for the train (ÖBB / S7) will be even cheaper then!

Hi! As Vienna is one of the safest cities in the world, taking a taxi in the evening isnt a problem. I recommend to take one of the official taxis, that will be available at the airport.

you can open the app offline, but not all features will work. -E.g. you can show the tickets, that you already bought. But the navigation and information about arrivals, timetables etc wont work.

Do you need to have a photo attached to your Wien mobile 7 days ticket, or the ticket inspectors just check if the name on the id card is the same with the one on the ticket, and no photo needed?

Hi Greta, I downloaded the app as I'm going to Vienna at the end of this month...I'd like to know if I can buy a ticket days before I use it? because it says it's valid from time of purchase..and it requires the start point. So it seems to me it's not very flexible? Thanks

A single fare ticket is valid from the time of purchase, so it can't be bought in advance. However, travel passes (24, 48, 72 hours, or 7 or 31 days) can be purchased ahead of time, with the option to choose your start date.

Hi, Are the ticket bought from this app able to be used on the BUS VAL 1? I'm looking to travel from the airport to Jo&Joe hostel.

The VAL busses are operated by a different company than the public transport in vienna. So the tickets you buy for the public transport in Vienna are not valid for the VAL busses and vice versa. However, you can purchase tickets for the VAL busses in the Wien mobil app.

Hi! The tickets, that you buy in the app will be valid for Bus, Tram and Subway. Exept if you buy one of the airport tickets with the city airport rain or the Vienna Airport lines. These are only valid for the connection stated. Have a good trip!

How do I reach the Airport from city centre with less price? Is there any tram/train/ metro?

I recommend to take either the ÖBB Train or the S7. They cost the same and are the cheapest option for going from the city center to the airport. You can look up the connection in the Wien Mobil App or on Google Maps. The easiest way to buy the ticket is probably at one of the ticket automats at the train station. If you already have a ticket for the public tranpsort, make sure to de-select that option at the automat, so the total price gets even cheaper.

@@lovemarcia95 so if you buy the normal city transit ticket through the wienmobil app, you get a qr code and people just scan it. be careful to make sure you have it ACTIVE the ENTIRE TIME you are there unless you buy physical tickets to fill in the gap because tickets are valid for like 2 hours or something i think. also they have separate transit jurisdictions. taking transit from the city TO the airport requires an active CITY ticket and the ticket for the actual train to the airport... i hope that made sense lol
