This beautiful soul of a guest has an aura of raw humility and Bible practicality, selflessness and understanding which emanates and showcases her deep relationship with the Holy Spirit. I am in awe. No self aggrandisement and the popular self worship termed "self love". No "false humility" or trying to fine tune one s shortcomings other than presenting our personal struggles to God as they really are and as God really sees it and which alone will lead to Him actually intervening in a person s life to effect a remodelling from inside out; onto the PURITY OF HEART that Jesus well buttressed in the Bible. This lady is a stack exhibition of Jesus ' s kind of love for men as written in exact words in the Bible. I have a deficit of words to describe what I see in this daughter of God that you brought to us as a guest, Tolu. God bless you. I am truly blessed. Since the proud shall be resisted by God while the humble be exalted, so shall it be for this our guest. That's all I can say.

My bestest friend woke up one day and blocked me on all socials. Not a closure, not a conversation, not 1 quarrel for the time we knew each other, I was a good friend to her, I prayed for her, I listened to her and I can't remember hurting her in any way ( I would've even appreciated a communication to apologize). She never said anything to me. I was totally hurt and still hurting for over a year now. Does it mean our friendship didn't mean anything to her? She left me at my lowest point and yep! I was depressed and lonely. I called our mutual friend, called her Mum and nothing was said. I cry as I type because honestly she was the one person I could forgive for anything in this world but, I guess this is life. I wish her the best.

Love me some jbums aka Mrs Black! A big IG fan! Female friendship as a topic is dear to my heart, as I realize many adult women, particularly above 30s and beyond, have a hard time understanding being intentional about friendship. It’s important to understand that there are diff levels of friendship too. Consistency, creating a safe space and being vulnerable are very vital to friendship. Friendship is a place to show God’s love. You give first, not in response but because God has placed you in their life and blessed you with that responsibility. Too many ladies are waiting for the other to make the first move. “Oh I will give her child a gift, because she gave mine first” “Oh I invited her to lunch last month, so she must invite me this month” Naah, that’s not friendship should be. You give first, not because you expect anything in return, but it’s God’s way. I see friendship the way I see other ships in my life, As an ambassador of Christ, I am reppin Christ in your life. This means there are many ppl I am friendly with, but there are few ppl I consider my close friends. Read that again, and know the difference. Know the difference between acquaintances and regular friends and the difference between those, and your inner circle of close friends. The length of the friendship isn’t as important as the quality! I am closer to one I have known for 3 years vs. one I have known for 20 years. Someone once asked me how to define friendship, and I asked “Can you trust your children with them?”, like can you leave your kids with them for a few days, and know they would go far and beyond to make sure they are ok? If you can’t, then it may mean you have to invest more in that friendship, or find others that you can. If you desire that kind of friend, then pray and step out. Be that kind of friend, and God will reward you accordingly with someone who will do the same for you.

I so agree with that "soulmate" in female friendship. When I was younger, my best friend used the term "twin flame" and I didn't quite get it. As I mature in my faith, I understood it. We can both sense when one person is having a challenging time faith wise, and pray each other up.

I'm like J-Bums, Friendship is extremely important to me. I honestly believe God does not want us to do life alone. At every stage in my life, asides from my old friends, God always sends me a friend. It's a pattern I have learnt to recognize. So when I'm in a new season or phase, I ordinarily look out for that person(s) and if I'm not able to readily recognise the person, I pray to God to reveal the person.

I can totally relate. Female friendships mehn... My mantra now is take what the person is giving to you and evaluate how much you can give without getting hurt. Always found myself bending over backwards for others and never reciprocated even after complaining about it. I just write in my journal now, reach out to people when I can and talk to God.

Thank you ladies for such insightful perspective. I have definitely learned a thing or two from your conversation today. Female friendships are extremely complex and from my experience evolves with age, life altering events (marraige, kids, moving from being single to married) and when people move to a different city. True friendships will survive any change. Some people have many besties and some people only have one - Like Oprah she only has one best friend - Gayle! and we can see how mutually enriching and beneficial their relationship have been for over 50 yrs so much that they finish each other’s sentences! True rewarding friendships are orchestrated by God. I don’t use the word “friend” loosely anymore. Calling someone my friend has taken a new meaning for me and when I decided to do an inventory on my friendships I was shocked to see that I actually don’t have any friend only acquaintances that I labelled as friends. When I discovered what true friendship entails I realised that my friendship with the women in my life were one sided me giving to much and not getting the same in return. When I discovered that I had no real friends around me I made a decision to pray for destiny helpers and asked God to put the right people in my life and give me the wisdom to discern them. Female friendships are complex and only God can truly surround you with the right people that would be a mutually beneficial and rewarding friendship. It is well and thanks again for a great video

I'm that kind of friend who give chances, I have pals but just a friend and that gladys, one of the best thing 2019 gave me, met her in church and I just came to that church and we spoke like we knew like 10 years ago. Gladys and I have literally have been through a lot together, I remember when my name didn't come out for my school admission list, as if you knew I was so sad that day, it was evening she called and pray with and for me, that night I checked my school portal and saw I was granted admission, i called her and told her and we both cried together on the phone because she was in school then. Gladys loves me too much and I do even more. I'm in tears now because gladys is not just a friend to me but a sister, she's a treasure God dropped in my life, I cherish and honour gladys so much with so much love, I don't joke with her. Though we don give each other break fast😂😂 but we thank God helping us sailing in this sisterhood, there is no one that can replace Gladys. We have a motto that we are soulmates until the God brings ou original soulmates 😂😂. We talk about everything and anything and what I admire in our sisterhood is that we involve God in any conversation we have and we might not even speak for weeks and when we do it just like we continue from where we stopped. I love you Akpevwe( Her native name🤗)

I'm one of those people who built a wall based on bad friendship break ups and it helped me when another friend did the same thing to me. I have resolved to have several close friends rather than one bestie. Also, I think I gravitate more towards male friendship and people who are older than me and I have no regrets there. Hopefully, I can develop better female frienships.

Now thank you so much for this! We need more of these conversations, I hear and get feedbacks on my friendship/conversation segment, especially from the younger-age circle and I believe there’s need for great conversations to help shape the whole idea & understanding of friendship. Oh, how deep this is! Friendship may be a lot, but when we realize how important it is to discern reasons and seasons for people in your life per time, it makes it easier to know that on some days, in this hood, we extend grace to others and on other days, grace is to be extended to us knowing that no one is perfect but all parties are ready to put in the work in form of love, communication & sacrifice😊🤗. Thanks to you both for having this conversation. 🙏🥰🥰 Welldone Sisterly💯

I'm happy I came across this video. My bestie in Uni got in a relationship, engaged and married on a perfectly low-key. It hurt and broke me. I was transparent about every single thing but she held alot back. I was depressed for a very long time. I haven't ever cried for anyone like I did for her cos she broke my heart. I've been thinking of her lately and dreamt of her all through last night. ...I just had to admit to a mutual friend that 'I miss that stupid girl and I've forgiven her'. I just hope she's safe and fine wherever she is. If you see this Mayowa, I'm sitting in my toilet and its 11:51pm 10/09/2022. I'm crying and typing this "I've forgiven you and pray you are happy wherever you are!" Till we meet again shaaa

Thanks for this video. I am guilty of shutting out a friend I knew for 4years. But it was after a minor disagreement . I think I just got tired of the name calling, bad mouthing, jealousy/envy and not being truthful and being secretive. It was just a looooong thing, you see that you can’t change someone. I felt she wasn’t good for my life and something had changed in me and I wasn’t willing to take especially the name calling from her. So I quietly made sure I didn’t get back in touch with her. I have friendships that are 20 years old and what has kept us going is having mutual respect for each other.

I get you totally. Love is a risk however I have learnt that having the right people in my life is what really matters therefore praying to the Father and asking him to send the right friends into my life has been the only way that I believe I can win in life and fulfil my purpose. There is a friend that sticks closer than a brother and I believe only God brings those types of people into our lives. Someone’s we only just need one destiny helper. Like Oprah Winfrey has only one best friend that the whole world knows about- Gayle! They have been friends for over 45yrs and you can see how much true destiny friendship helps shape us and helps us grow. It was so funny watching them being interviewed and how they were finishing each other’s sentences

I still kind of share something related to my unit members today while I was discussing 3John 1:2 with them using the Message Translation. That it is God's desire that we also prosper in our relationships (Friendship inclusive).

When it comes to friendship, allow God to lead you. Also, give more love than you expect, infact don't expect anything. People who are giving people and have a sincere heart of love make good friends in my opinion. And God will protect them from evil. Always listen to the Holy Spirit or your guts when it comes to making friends. Don't jump on every friendship. Friendships can change your life or determine the course of your life.

That Persistent part. God is helping me with that. I find that I give up easily. Once I reach out once or twice, that's it.

Over the years I have learnt that some friendship breakups can be fixed organically with some space and time. Bcus when the rift is fresh conversations to achieve closure can have the opposite effect, whilst time and space creates an environment where tensions are reduced and it just provides for easier conversations at a later date. I really aim at achieving great female friendships that last a lifetime.
