ABOUT THE PRESENTATION: In an age of internet overload and competing art markets, it is hard to navigate. Susan will share her experiences as a gallerist, explain the intricacies of the gallerist and artist relationship, and offer a few suggestions. We will discuss the biggest question: is the gallery model right for me? - Susan Irish was the owner and curator of FABULON, a successful and innovative Charleston gallery.
ARTIST BIO: Susan Irish is an American abstract painter and environmental advocate known for her bold and energetic scenes of nature.
Each of her distinctively frenetic landscapes carry subtle signs of creeping industrial blight. To appreciate their beauty is to grapple with one’s own role in their decay.
Susan works primarily in oil and cold wax. She believes art making is integral to the human spirit and should be fostered and celebrated. Much of her early art life called her to the classroom as a public-school art teacher, private portfolio preparation for gifted students, coaching adults, and working with students on the spectrum. Susan was the founder and curator of Fabulon, A Center for Art and Education in Charleston, SC.
In 2018, Susan was inducted into the National Association of Women Artists. She is an internationally known and award-winning artist. Her work has been exhibited in Ireland, Maine, Massachusetts, New York, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Arizona, and California. Irish has paintings in permanent collection with Pinnacle Financial Partners, SC. susanirisharti...
