Hello Donna, I enjoy your tutorials a great deal, so very informative. I am however trying to find someone who can show me how to do a vertical color change. In other words, the pattern calls for half one color half the either but not horizontally. the pattern is literally split down the middle. Is there a way to do this and keep the connecting vertical line straight?
@naztazia4 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can see the color change techniques I use in this video, which apply to vertical color changes: kzbin.info/www/bejne/f3_TZpiqpLiXe7s

I’ve seen them at Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I love the ergonomic handled ones at Hobby Lobby they are different colors for different sizes (thick handle) and my hands don’t cramp as easy. They’re only $2.99 each.

@lisaborsch67215 жыл бұрын
So for picture afgans I would used the hidden yarn technique?
@naztazia5 жыл бұрын
Depends upon the color changes. If you are switching colors quite often (like every 2-3 stitches) it might be useful to carry the yarn strands and crochet over the unused ones. If you are switching colors, but not very often, it might be better to do the method with small balls of yarn.

I don't get it. So u never take out the old color? When doing double crochet?
@naztazia2 ай бұрын
It depends upon if the old color will be used again later in the row, or later in subsequent rows. If I'm doing 10 rows of blue yarn, I would probably end the color and start the new color for the next 10 rows. However, if I'm doing 2 rows of blue, and 2 rows of green and 2 rows of blue again, I would carry the color upwards along the side of the work so that I don't have so many ends to weave in at the end. The same goes for using blue and green yarn on the same row.
