Flick the Rstick up...instead of holding. Its timing...but it won't foul...and will close out. Or LStick away from defender and triangle....straight up jump...no foul

Great Vid Pham! One tip though...holding Rstick up will do hands straight up. Flicking Rstick up before the shot (as per the manual under Defense, shot contest) will shot contest and close out without the turbo! Another tip...you can do the "Vertical Contest" which is Lstick away and triangle ...Jump contest, no foul!

This is such an informative video. I really needed these tips for my defense. I got a win last night with these methods. We came back from 13-0. It was an epic game. Thanks again for the very detailed work. I haven't watched tutorial 14 yet but do you have any offensive quick plays for park 3 ball. I.E. Best ways to score with your 3 man team at the park. Great video Sam! Just one question. When I play in the park I use the gear shifting and Rs up when the guy is about to shoot but for some odd reason myplayer just stands and that is no contest. If this happens what should my pro stick function be on because my defense function is on absolute like you mention.

Defense is way better just because you can stop blow by cheese .. they need to patch bump steals and you getting ripped soon as you get a rebound

I usally go to the side hit em with a crossover and blow bye ofc this is risky cause you can go out of bounds but some of the games i win is bye 2 or 6 so if it wasnt for that blow bye to the side i would have lost

How about for players with low defensive stats, I find that when I do L2 + R2 the offensive player is able to blow by them. Should I just hold exclusively L2 for low defensive stats players ?

Why does Pro-Stick Defense need to be on absolute? Isn't that just user preference? You can still contest just as well using camera relative, right?

Hey Sam! Great video as always. I have been playing triple threat and have been using your techniques, thing is some of these dribble gods i just cant defend They blow by me and dunk every single time and my cpu defense is awful lol Whenever they do a move a slide all over the place, i believe i have been holding down ls too much I try to press them but cant always get the on ball contact animation, most times i just stand in front of them and then wind up going to their side and they run by me Any tips on that? NBA 19 is trash, playing the game does not affect the game. Either you press a button and dunk with Lonzo ball over Clint Capella which wouldn't be possible even in anyone's dreams or you wide open and miss. Defending is even more pointless since you jump with McGee on Isiah Thomas and he still scores through you as if you are a damn ghost. Not buying any NBA 2k games ever again.
