I got this today for PS3. I grew up with this game on the Sega Genesis, years ago and loved it every time I played. With this game, all those memories will come flooding back and I'll feel like a kid again

NBA hangtime (nba jam version for the Nintendo 64) is a fuckin fantastic game! Best basketball game ever. Me and my brother must have spent hundreds of hours on that game!

The original "NBA JAM" in the arcade back in 1993 was the greatest Arcade game to ever be released... I have played every version of this game on Nintendo and they were never as good as the original arcade NBA JAM....Even NBA JAM TE does not stack up to the original. I would love to sit down and have a conversation with Mark Turmell about the original NBA JAM, that would be the shit. I am excited for this new Wii version and hope it will live up to the hype!

@DYvideos Agreed. I think NO online complements the game. Play it like you did in the 90s in every single way. Of course, nothing is wrong with some stat tracking of your personal players. That's what I enjoyed most about Hangtime.

Hmm I'm hoping to see an article written up on the 360/PS3 versions when they come out. This game in HD would be so awesome. I don't care for sports games normally but I'd love to play this title with my brother (who is almost 30 and actually played the original a lot) so the lack of Remix mode won't bug me. And YES I was hoping for Obama but they put so many bonus characters in. I never thought I'd say this but it looks like EA made a decent game!

@Angel1025 Very true. Online just would've been nice since this game is so "pick up and play". A few quick online games while you wait for your friends to show up, or on days where you just wanna play real quick before you leave would've been cool.

Who cares that there is no online? Gaming back then was about getting a few mates together and fighting for bragging rights within your house. Online now is all about who has the most spare time to perfect a headshot in MW or Halo. Leaderboards make it impossible to ever feel that real sense of achievement as you did when beating your best mate at a game of NBA JAM or Goldeneye. I miss those days!

@fnckyou2 because EA made the game, not nintendo, and EA said "no online on wii version because its complete and closer to the release", and because 360 and PS3 get the full retail game (without remix and some features) on holiday, they got more time to implement online... The game on HD will be the exact same game, only with 720p/1080p, without remix and characters and with online...

only thing i dislike about the game is that the buttons feel stiff... the original arcade and home counsel nba jam buttons were quickly active. as in when the button is pushed, the jump, shot, push the moment its pressed. now the newer nba jam delays a bit, i understand its kinda making it look realistic stalling, but im use to the quick classic gameplay... theres too much blocking, too much collisions when dunking... and another thing, when you throw a shove, the recovery time is wayyy to long.

This review can be a little misleading. While it's true that the Nintendo Wii's version doesn't support online mode, the PS3 and XBOX 360's versions on the other hand do support an online mode.

@Biotasm The downloadable version that was to come with NBA Elite 11 on PS360 was to have these modes unlockable via a further DLC unlock A 360 beta has already leaked and had the DLC unlock broken The PS3 version has been downloaded with an authentic code and shows these modes as unlockable with DLC purchase The only Wii exclusive is now waggle

The reason that there is no online is that EA did a survey that HARDLY any wii owners use the online multiplayer. And the only games they use online multiplayer for is Mariokart and Smash Bros. So implementing online multiplayer is pointless. Saying that no online multiplayer is a bad thing for this game is like saying this water is too wet. Its pointless. (I know this because I know a relative that works for EA canada, who developed the game).

i got this game for xmas on xbox360 its pretty dope. this is a great game when u have friends over cuz its easy to pick up and play and its fun. 2k11 is a great game too but it is very difficult to just pick and play cuz there r so many plays/moves this and that. the r some issues i have w this game is no tag mode (wtf), u can't change the control layout, and the powerups r kinda weak
