He actually improved and added more tools to his game with time. He was the most amazing player i have ever seen. Coming from the era of the 70's, he reminded me of undersized center the late, great Wes Unseld in terms of how dominate he was at his size. Wes Unseld was a 6'7" center and was as tough as they come. He played against the legendary Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, Bob Lanier, Jack Sikma, Bill Walton and of course Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for starters. Charles Barkley was dominate like that, check out his pass at the pass he whips at 8:40. That pass is ridiculous, full speed, moving away from the play, hitting a target moving toward the basket and hit him perfectly in stride. Even crazier is his teammate was expecting the pass from that far away.

Zion is NOTHING like Barkley..💯
@isaiahayers15505 ай бұрын
Well, their points, assists, steals and blocks numbers on a per game basis are pretty similar. They're also both undersized PFs, both listed at 6'6", and both very athletic and powerful. Zion can jump even higher and run faster since he's shredded, but Barkley was far more skilled and a much better rebounder and passer.
@lapson195 ай бұрын
@@isaiahayers1550 Biggest difference between Zion and Barkley was mental. Barkley went for the kill EVERY NIGHT, he was extremely determined to dominate each game, which is what he did. Barkley was also much better shooter than Zion.

Charles was clearly top ten. Anyone who might deny Charles was one of the best ever either never saw him play or are deluded. Barkley's efficiency is underrated even at ~54%. Reason being is that he liked to shoot 3s every now and then, but wasn't really good from the arc. For sure he is gonna get more points but what will actually significantly increase is his assist and rebounds. In this era, there are a lot of shooters. If they double chuck down low, he will find that open man every time. In terms of rebounds, there arent a lot of great rebounders nowadays so he doesnt have a lot of competition like he used to.

Not that I was ever even going to play college ball, but I patterned my game after Charles. I chose #34 as well. I was a 5'8, thicker dude, playing a 4 position in high school and averaged 8 boards a game, and when I got going on offence, no one ever stepped in to take a charge against me. I even developed a decent shot once I saw him go to Phoenix and hit threes. Charles, in the off chance that you'll see this, thanks for the tip of jumping fences. Scared the hell outta me at first, but the hops came. And thanks for always speaking your mind, especially about them 'big ole women' in Texas.. hahahaha Ridiculous.. hahaha
