Young people only think of Barkley as a pundit on Inside the Nba.....what a shame they never got to see this man and what a dog he was! These throwback Nba channels are golden....Put some Respect on these old school Legends names!

I hate when people look back and say that Barkley didn't deserve the MVP award that year because of MJ. Yes the heck he did! His first year in Phoenix he leads that Suns team to the best record in the league, without his 2nd best teammate Kevin Johnson for 33 of the 76 games Barkley himself played in that season. He deserved that!
@kik53238 ай бұрын
Crazy enough I think he deserved it over Magic in 1990.

@@kik5323 Oh I agree! 89-90 was actually Barkley at his absolute peak IMO. He was still great in Phoenix but he had a better cast around him.

brings back A LOT of memories...sigh. I rem this like yesterday. Chuck was one of my fav players and personalities then. Those Suns & Sonics jersey's are fire though. The west was soooo good during the 90s. Suns-Sonics, Sonics-Rockets, Rockets-Suns, Jazz-Spurs, Jazz-Sonics, Jazz-Suns, Jazz-Rockets, Spurs-Rockets...so many rivalries.

This game is often remembered for Phoenix shooting a whopping 64 free throws (28 more than Seattle) but Seattle benefitted from some very questionable calls that went in their favor in that game 7 OT battle against Houston to help them even reach this point, so ultimately things kinda evened out.
@chrisuncleahmad7898 ай бұрын
Seattle did not help themselves when they blew game 3 at home (after stealing game 2 in the desert!) and they easily could have won game 5.

One of the most dubiously reffed games in nba playoff his. I don't feel bad for Seattle in retrospect......they were benefactors of some dubious refereeing to win game 7 vs Houston in the previous series!!

What a season for Barkley. No doubt he’d won a championship if he hadn’t run into a prime Jordan and then a prime Olajuwon. That 3 year window for the Suns was their best chance.

Your joking right 😅 Phoenix barely made it to the NBA finals.. in both 1994 & 1995 Phoenix choked to Houston twice. Phoenix wasn't good enough to win a ring

This would the Suns' last postseason home win of 1993.
@Riles31528 ай бұрын
Yea they definitely didn't protect home court against the Bulls, but what's even more crazy is that the only 2 games they won in the finals was IN Chicago. The only game they lost in Chi was a wire to wire game that came down to the final minute, where Jordan had to score 55 points for them to survive.

One helluva series. Barkley played in a better situation in Phoenix than he did in Philly because the Suns had better talent around him such as thunder Dan and KJ unlike Philly which who has a history of not building good in the draft around their star player. P.S.: The NBA are likely going to return to NBC after next season.
