Where is the NBA when constitution was turned upside down? Does it mean that Nigerians are not aware that supreme court justices Musa retired exposed the criminality, illegality, fraud, intimidation in judiciary. What did NBA and NJC , do or say? Sanusi was removed as emir and he did not complain and i thought the new emir would have done the same thing Sanusi did than creating unnecessary tensions !!

Jide what we are saying let the court decide . Federal high court have no jurisdiction on chieftancy matter
@nurudeenapena6705 ай бұрын
Whether the court has jurisdiction or not, in law, and to avoid rascality, an order of the court is expected to be obeyed by the parties to the case. The aggrieved can approach the higher court, and NOT the court of coordinate jurisdiction, to vacate the order. The order must first be obeyed, whether right or wrong! Whether it favors you or NOT! That is the law. There are no two ways to it. Approaching a court of coordinate jurisdiction to obtain a counter order is simply a judicial rascality and an invitation to anarchy! Until the NJC becomes strongly decisive on these judges, we will continue to witness this mess in the judiciary.

My worry for the country is that 99% of the masses exhibit the attitude of 'the enemy of my enemy, whether right or wrong, is my friend.' It's a pity! 99.9% of the sympathizers of SLS today were his staunch enemies when he and kwankwaso was fighting Jonathan because the later removed him as CBN governor. In fact, they all supported his removal as the Emier. My question is what went wrong? Sentiment!

@nurudeenapena6705 ай бұрын
Ganduje sacked Sanusi for two reasons: he was indicted for corruption in the emirate council. I mean "indicted." Ganduje also said 'for an act of insubordination'! I am not interested in the moral standards of Ganduje on sanusi's corruption allegation and indictment, but the substance of his action. Does he have the right to do so as the governor? YES! Because by law, the Emirs in the North and Obas in the south are staff of their executives. In fact, they are under the local government councils. The political angle of it is that the kingmakers never elected SLS. Bayero was elected, and in fact, after the election, SLS congratulated Bayero until when Kwankwaso changed the narrative. Just like Obasanjo did in respect of Olowu of Owu. Absolute power corrupts absolutely!

Kano emirship tussle is a very sad happenings caused by partisan politics. It is very important to maintain independent and impartial judiciary systems in a nation and nigeria it not an exception.The Chief Justice of Nigeria's decision to review the conflicting rulings is a step in the right direction, ensuring that the judiciary system remains a trusted and credible institution. Nigeria can't allow a compromised judiciary system because of it far-reaching consequences, including erosion of trust, political instability, undermining of democracy, loss of international credibility, and social unrest. It's crucial for Nigeria to prioritize the independence and credibility of its judiciary system, ensuring that judicial appointments are merit-based and judges are protected from political interference. It is very important that the judiciary system can maintain its role as a beacon of hope for justice, fairness, and the rule of law, contributing to the stability and prosperity of the nation. The importance of safeguarding the integrity of the judiciary system is a must, and I couldn't agree more with the nigerian CJ!

Jide you are obviously singing the tune of Ganduje, their is something called separation of powers. Each arms of government should respect this doctrine. The court cannot interfere in the internal working of the legislature no matter how flawed. Just like the executive cannot dictate how a judge should organize it activities. Like wise the legislation cannot interfere in how the executive makes its deliberation to arrive at its decision. Also the executive cannot dictate the agenda of the legislature. Our courts have a nasty habit of poking its nose 👃 in matters it shouldn’t be involved in thereby defeating the separation of power.
@sirrainbow16725 ай бұрын
While we know that Sanusi was pleased with ratification of the law that remove him from the Emir's position he is experienced and learned enough to know that there was a court order regarding his possible reinstatement and therefore, he should have suggested to the Governor to hold on for a while to hear the court decision before swearing him in as the Emir. If this was someone else, this is the possible advice Sanusi himself would have given. The judicial system in the country is useless when court orders are not obeyed by those in authority, the governor was totally wrong when he disobeyed the court order. What does he expects the citizen to do if he can behave the way he did. People go to court to have disputes resolved and he has not given the court that opportunity in this case.

(2).This is an in-house "civil war" among the descendants of ex- conqueror. (3). Ironically the two gladiators are cousins and in-laws simultaneously. (4). If Nigeria is truly a republic (where the people (i.e. electorates) elect from among themselves the persons who will represent and govern them for their welfare within a stated timeframe that will be renewed via another election) who elected these " monarchs" and their alikes in other hamlets within and far from you? (5). Literacy and political awareness have improved astronomically. Lugardian's Indirect- Rule is no longer relevant in today's Nigeria; then why still keeping these people?
