I’m loving the changes they’ve brought to the schedule and it’s isn’t perfect but I love the rivalries week concept. What about you? Did they get the rivalries right or was something missing?

It's a brilliant move. Even as a fan, the NBA season can drag. Pretty much every sport that isn't football can drag. But the others at least have a sense that any team who makes the playoffs can win it all. The NBA doesn't. In a good year, there's maybe 4 teams that can realistically win going into the playoffs. It's why the NBA really starts its marketing at Christmas. The season is two months old by that point but it feels like the real beginning of it to the non-diehards. This is obviously a month after Christmas. But the early-mid part of January will be dominated by the NFL. Wild Card weekend extends into Monday now while the Divisional round is Saturday and Sunday. Right after that is where the rivalry week starts. Yes, the AFC/NFC Championship Games will obviously be the big sports stories of the week and will dominate coverage on Sunday. But with no Saturday games, the NBA kind of has a run of the week leading up to it. If the marketing campaign does its job, then the NBA will enter the next week (week 1 of the 2 weeks between the Championship Games and the Super Bowl) in a position of real strength. The NFL will dominate the second week leading into the Super Bowl. But after the Super Bowl the NBA can regain its momentum and pick up where it left off. Sure, a few of the games are swings and misses, at least in terms of being legit rivalries. But the concept is brilliant.
