I remember watching this first thing in the morning, everyday, at around 4AM, whilst getting ready to get to my high school for early morning basketball practice. Some days the practice was scheduled, other days we had organized it ourselves with our coach. I remember feeling amazing every bus ride into school. I remember how the cold during the winter became my hunger to become the best version of myself. Not the best ever, not the best out of everybody else there, but the best version of myself. Fast forward to now, I'm severely out of shape. I'm clinically depressed, I make excuses for myself, I just go to work and stay content in that comfort I've made... I'm making a promise to myself, today, on the 29th of June 2021, that I will chase that same goal of becoming the best version of myself. To the person who uploaded this with the background music, you've made a video that I can always get back to, in order to remind myself that nobody becomes the essence of greatness without working hard in that uncomfortable state. Thank you for that.

This message is absolutely true, you might not be the most athletic, tallest, strongest, or most talented player but you will get far in this sport if you're willing to push past your comfort zone and never quit when adversity hits, always remember that it's not where you start it's where you finish that matters

I'm 5'9 in 6th grade. I'm not talented. People expect me to do good in basketball because I'm tall. That proves they don't know what basketball really is. It isn't a sport where only tall guys are good look at Isaiah Thomas!

First time I heard this, I was tryin out for my university team 8 years ago. I did make it, but fell out because of severe lack of skill. But it does not matter. At least Im happy I tried. Still, after all this time, i find myself hearing this video every year. Before every basketball scrimmage, 3x3 tournament etc. This video has something special in it, tbh. It is not the pump up, aggressive motivation. It is the peaceful, inspiring type.

I was hold back in my tears to then and never show other's how I feeling because I scared that they bully me back but I was going away to playing basketball ! I was 8 years old when I first catched basketball in my hands ! My gaming was so well and now I still dream to be a basketballer . I will try to show how hard I work for my dream !

What's considered working smart? KBTITAN DA GOD24
@kbtitan24649 жыл бұрын
Doing things that will help your game and not hurt it...doing research and finding out whats the proper technique to get you results..for example.... Say Im training for 100m dash...would I run 2 miles or....focus running explosively and fast in a short distance and short amount of time.
@kbtitan24649 жыл бұрын
I would sprint in a short distance because it works my fast twitch muscle fibres which is what explosive athletes like Usain Bolt..LeBron James..Derrick Rose...Marshawn Lynch have...... Because running 2 miles does not help with explosiveness..but in stamina..slow twitch muscles...and marathon running.

Tristana Curry basically are know what you are doing when you workout like what are you trying to achieve are you working on the skills you will do in games are working condition make sure your body feels great in game for example you might work on your step back but if you won't do it and in games it makes no sense doing it

what does he mean working smart😕¿
@mach.62907 жыл бұрын
i think her means like do everything right and stuff like +Break ya Ankle
@ltnorbiit30207 жыл бұрын
Break ya Ankle what he means by working smart is, don't think because you throw up a couple of shots in the gym that you're getting better (any work out is better than nothing ), but what makes you a great and smart player is repetition , repeating the same thing to get it right instead of doing it just once won't make you better or smarter basketball player
@justinwright39777 жыл бұрын
Break ya Ankle also he means just doing the things your gonna do in games work on those skills and look at what your working at and know what your working on to improve your game basically say to yourself is this gonna improve my game how is it or why is it things in that sort
@JanniGuldeIversen6 жыл бұрын
As I understand it - these principles can be applyed to anything in life. While working hard is important, doing so in a stupid way won't reap the same benefits (if any) as working hard AND smart. For example considering material arts - that's my sport, but the same principles could apply to any area. The goal is off course to improve. Working hard - I might practice my kicks (or a throw) f.eg. 20 times and use all my speed, strength and precision to make it 20 perfect repetitions - or as close to perfect I can currently get. If I were to rush through them, while I might get them done, they might not be that great, so that would be working stupid. And if I rather than making 20 repetitions in on go, go ahead and make it 500 - that surely is hard work, right? But it might be working stupid rather than smart. Way before I reach the end of those 500 - or perhaps even the first 100, my body will start to get tired. My speed will fail me. My strength will fail me. That might impact my balance, my distance and my overall form. Though I might have made 20 or even 50 perfect kicks, the rest of the 500 will most likely start to be more and more shitty. And though I am working hard, my body will remember the last 400 shitty kicks better than my first 10, 20 or 50 perfect to good/decent ones. That would be working hard but incredibly stupid since rather than improving I am destroying my skill with misguided hard work. I am sure this applies to basketball, football or even chess as well.
