Please. Grow up. Defense lawyers have a legal obligation to argue the facts in the best light for their client. If they don’t they can be disbarred. Getting angry at a lawyer for making an argument shows deep ignorance of the adversarial process. If the Prosecution had made better arguments maybe they would have convinced all the jurors to impose death. They failed. Thats the law. The victim impact statement is to discuss the impact of THE CRIME. The murderer should be the sole focus. The Judge should have prevented any attack on counsel. End of story.

@@MoreCoffeePlease. Its fair to make an argument that the care this kid got was inadequate even if the facts support your argument that he got adequate care. Fair arguments can be incorrect. Unfair is if the defense brought false evidence of care to the jury’s attention. The fact that the family disagrees with every single thing the defense said does not make a single word of it unfair or improper or deserving of calling them disgusting and subhuman. Some of the family members of the victims did not want the death penalty imposed. Are they too evil? Calling anyone who is like minded evil makes a person look unhinged vindictive and lacking in intelligence. I have compassion for the families. I may want the death penalty imposed if it was my family member. But I’ll be damned if I would argue that defense attorneys compelled by law to defend a person are more immoral than the shooter.

The money the defense lawyers will get from this trial should bring them nothing but heartache and trouble. After all that therapy and he STILL wants to kill - doesn't sound to me that any more therapy would help. The jurors should also seriously search their souls for rendering the punishment they rendered.

Agreed the defense gave a pity party for the jury. Which was so wrong. And the jury fell for this and he should have been handed a death sentence

This verdict was unjust entirely. I think someone lied to get on the jury. This is exactly the extreme case the death penalty is for. Every defense attorney that lied should be disbarred.

The reason medicine and psch services didn't work is you cannot medicate or counsel a anti social personality with homicidal tendencies. The psychiatrist explained this. The jury ignored. 🙄

My heart goes out to all the families. It is beyond sad. My boyfriend lost his son and it’s an unimaginable pain I saw and still see to this day. I’m shock at how much therapy and mental health services he’s had. He had more then enough help. It’s on him wether he used it. He’s gotten 100x more help then I did from all the times I went to rehab. Mind blowing. And that was $90,000 to go. Thankfully I had insurance each time. In the beginning I had a small, very small, amount of empathy towards him. That vanished completely. I think he did deserve the death penalty.
