I completely agree with all of this and what she said was so empowering and moving. I mean no disrespect. But as a health care worker and as someone who works in an ER, that is the law to take care of a pt no matter what they have done. By law we have to throw our bias out the window (we never actually do of course) but we MUST treat a pt. I get prisoners and people who have done horrible things in the ER all the time that have to be medically treated before they are sent back off to their facility. Pts are not just humans, they are pts. Every pt has a right whether we like it or not. We had a mass shooting ten years ago… the Aurora theater on the Batman screening night. You have no idea how hectic the ER can get/was. When a pt comes in for a GSW or in disaster protocol they are usually made a doe pt and HIPPA is put into place and they are made private. (This means we cannot tell anyone they are here - and we don’t know if they’re here if they’re a doe) We are at risk of losing our jobs and even facing criminal charges if we disclose any information to visitors/families/friends/media. I don’t always think this is ethical but these rules are there to overall protect the pt. Even if they don’t always make sense, and sometimes they just don’t. Our first priority is to keep the pt safe and then move on to family. It’s not easy, especially during a disaster protocol. There’s a reason they call it a disaster. What I’d like to say is that it really is not a societal issue or matter of respect when it comes to the hospital taking care of a criminal. This is the law that we must obey for ALL of our pts. I cannot imagine the trauma and heartbreak these healthcare workers have gone through, especially when they lose the children. The hospital is definitely going to have a hard time locating a deceased person especially when dealing with live victims from that same shooting. I think it was just chaotic. Not only did they have 17 bodies to identify but they were probably also trying to find contacts for those hospitalized. Cruz having been seen for mental health isn't really related to this. So now law enforcement is in charge of school security? Um, no. That's the school district, not the Sherriff's Department. They may hire or contract with law enforcement but the full responsibility lies with the school board and school district officials.

@@tracieroberts6323 They literally had a School Resource Officer assigned to the school, who got fired because he did not engage the gunmen. He reacted like those cowardly cops in Ulvade TX that let those children get killed by mass shooter out there. The school resource officer at Parlkland is seen on camera running away from the gunfire. And no that is not what they are trained to do, so don't make up BS excuses.

Ms. Ramsey, it is painfully sickening to hear of the multiple times your family was not treated with the dignity and respect you all deserve. Helena is an angel taken way too soon. I love this ladies voice. Its' like she is telling the most lovely fairy tale but its the most horrid and heartbreaking true story. I just can't help but cry. I wept that Helena will never get to go to the museum with her mother. What a total loss of amazing life! ------- this trial has been so hard. I have had chest pains and had a panic attack today because I have watched this trial and got so attached to the families. I prayed for you all. I think after he goes back into the penal system never to return to the outside world, I will take a break. Maybe we can all breath just a little sigh of relief that one madman is locked away. Not a deep breath, but maybe just a sad sigh. Till the next time.............God, help us all!

Wow, really appreciate you sharing your loving relationship with your daughter. So beautiful how your daughter was so thankful to you, saying thank you mommy and meant it. You are right its amazing to see kids these days show genuine gratitude. How your daughter realized after finally getting accepted into the gifted class, she said something like, the class is not gifted but the kids are popular. Your daughter got it, she understood. Those qualities are from within, but some people are entitled and are granted positions from partial minded ungodly decision makers. Peace and grace to your family.

3 am that's super late, One of the other parents testified that they walked in their home around 10 pm. Race is an important element, also Mrs. Ramsey said to the reporters that her daughter got a 100 and still was not accepted. Later on after another perfect score her daughter was accepted. This mom was describing how resilient her daughter was. He has loved us not because we were the greatest of all people but because we were the least.

It’s unimaginable to think how cruelly her family was treated. They lost their child, were deliberately made to wait to be informed of their child’s murder; all because they’re colour other than white! To lose a child and be treated pathetically; all involved in this entire situation are guilty of inhuman behaviour and deserve to be punished. I’m an Indian, I don’t understand why the Asian teacher didn’t stand up for her daughter, really disgusting! And I’m in awe of this lady; her strength and poise show her fantastic upbringing and her substance. Being a mother, I can totally understand what all these families are going through, but that’s it. I can only understand, while they’re living it every moment of their lives. God, please give them endless strength and guide their efforts in making positive changes in society. They all deserved justice, but human systems failed them. Prayers, best wishes and love from India ♥️

This is so heartbreaking. How terrible Helena didn't get her gifted acknowledgment from the school. How sad that her family was given the runaround, then left for last - as if their importance didn't matter bc they're black. This woman is well spoken. I believe her when she says her beloved Helena was gifted. May she rest in peace. May they all, rest in peace. Justice is hard to find in this world - there can really be none. He destroyed a lot more than 17 lives.1700 lives is more like it when you consider all, family, all friends hurt by their loss. It's devastating. It's hard to look at his expressionless stare. You just wonder what happened to him to make him so cold, emotionless. Does he even realize what he has done ... I don't even know.
