It obviously doesn't make the country great. I know I will say this and you will dismiss that but look at every other country that has strict gun laws, and see how many shootings they have. People can change. People get emotional. And put weapons into their hands that are used in wars, they will use them. And that could even be the guy you could have sworn who would never do something like that. If people can't be trusted, which they obviously can't, they should not hold a weapon to hurt others. The solution would be easy but you close your eyes and hope it will all go away by itself. A good many of these public shootings would not take place if they thought they were possibly people there to shoot back. Maybe if you understood that you are your own first responder and had to be an active participant in your own rescue you would understand. Don’t blame the police they are only able to do what they have been paid to do. You should look into the funding of your local police department and see how much it has been cut back. Then you need to realize everyone is their own first responder and needs to play an active role in their own rescue. The police are nothing more than armed historians. They show up after the fact and record what happened. It has been that way since the day you were born.
