She was at the L.A. zoo back in 1975 presenting miniature ponies to Griffith Park. I asked if she would let me take a photo of her with my 5 year old daughter to which she said, "of course" and she held my daughter up in her arms next to the ponies for a good five minutes. My maternal grandmother loved her show Golden Girls. She’s passed away herself back in 2013 at age 93, but she knew well who Betty White was. Caught reruns of her show when I was little in the 90s. Used to watch it with my grandma. Respect to a fine woman with wit to boot! Betty is now happily reunited with her Golden Girls cast, Ed Asner, and Mary Tyler Moore up there… 🙏

When I heard the news yesterday morning that Betty White died, I felt my heart stop. She was the kind of person that I think everyone in the world loved, as if she was everyone's loving grandmother. No matter what she was on, what she did, or whatever she said, it was always bound to be epic. I should've seen this news coming, but the fact that it happened smack dab at the end of 2021 and about 2 weeks before she would've turned 100 felt like a huge stab in the heart. Nevertheless, she has left behind such an incredible and extraordinary legacy and has contributed so much to our world throughout her long and successful life and career. "Legend" isn't enough to describe the kind of person Betty was. But things won't be the same without her and we will all miss her dearly. Heaven has gained yet another Golden Girl.

I know I didn’t know her but I just found out and I’m fully sobbing. She was America’s grandmother. I mean that with all the love I feel for her. She made me laugh when I felt I couldn’t. I have no words she was just the very best. Just awful.

Oh dear, I’m so sorry and deeply saddened to hear that. At age 99 she obviously couldn’t go on for ever, but she has been with us most of our lives on the screen and tv, that we all feel we know her like a friend or family member. Still beautiful at this age, looking back she was absolutely gorgeous! And had such a beautiful singing voice! Shame we were not shown more of her work back then, she was accomplished from a very young age. Never a swear word, smuts or things like that she showed young upcoming actors what could be achieved by clean acting, and we are all going to miss the multi talented lady very much. One consolation is that she will be reunited with the love of her life again, so we must be happy for that. Godbless you Betty, you were loved more than you knew. 😘🙋‍♀️💕💐XXX

I rarely shed a tear over the passing of a public figure or entertainer, but so far in this century, only The Notorious RBG’s and her passing have stirred up emotions in me...two iconic American “golden” ladies I had wished to meet in person ... gone from this world and will be terribly missed!
