Like the NC State hoodies! Definitely wouldn't expect great pizza in the old country store when you first walked in. The garlic knots looked like they would be very good. Interesting that they had both styles of pizza at this restaurant. Chicago style pizza is very filling. I always go for thin crust...especially Grimaldi's.😄 🍕 Always enjoy those unique out of the way places. Great video!

Yes, you'd never know by looking at it, that it would be a great pizza place. But it's the best in this area. Even though they have other items in the menu, literally everybody that was in there, was getting pizza.

Yes, it is a great place for pizza. We highly recommend getting the thin crust, New York style. Also, it is a long way out of town, so we recommend calling first to make sure they will be open. Right after the hurricane, someone tried to go out there after watching this, and they were closed.

We've eaten there before and had burgers. They were very good. Didn't know they were known for pizza. Last time we went by, they weren't open and I was afraid they had closed up. Will have to go back and try the pizza!

@markcloer2274 They make a really good pizza. I would recommend just getting a larger one of the New York style. It's a pretty good little piece out of Lenoir through the country. But definitely worth it. If you do try it, let us know what you think.

@@NCMemoryMakers Well, wish I could give a report, but they are closed on Monday, even though the website says otherwise. The Google search shows them open Tuesday-Saturday. I called just to be sure and let it ring a dozen times with no answer. Didn't want to drive that far out of the way for nothing. No sweat. We had a lovely couple days in Boone. Went to see "Horn In The West" Saturday night and ate at Stone Walls up in Banner Elk on Sunday night. We'll try to catch Buffalo Cove when we go back in the Fall, but will not try to go on a Monday! 😞

If there is a campground out that way, I'm not aware of where it is. The drive from town isn't really too bad. Yes, it is a curvy road, but it's only about 10 miles from the main highway. And there may be a campground out there somewhere, but I just don't know where it is.

Just go up to Cheeks Crossroads and get on 268. Stay on it until the road forks, and you will stay to the left. I think it is even called Buffalo Cove Road. That pizza is some of the best.
