Actually, Candy is one of the famous songs from H.O.T which is also the first idol group of SM, so this is a remake song from SM. The tree in the mv is the symbol of Aiboland (an amusement park) in Korea, where H.O.T's original mv was also filmed, so they filmed this music video tribute to H.O.T in the same place after more than 20 years.

Actually, NCT Dream filmed in Everland. The original H.O.T music video was filmed in Lotte World, but the Dreamies did it in Everland because they're the current celebrity endorsers of the amusement park. They filmed the last scene with the carousel almost as identical as they could with the original video.

the ay yo repackage is much more contemporary r&b, so ay yo is a better representation of the music style of the b sides than 2 baddies. highly recommend checking it out. it’s one of my fave albums across all nct discography. the beatbox repack has some of their best work and definitely leans on the pop side. it’s fun to hear the progression of dream’s music as they grow more experienced. wayv’s phantom is a solid mini, and gives a lot of opportunities for members to showcase their talents. we waited so long for this music, and they didn’t disappoint.

A-Yo was the song that made me really check out NCT, it’s just that good! The whole repackaged album is a great listen (coming from someone who didn’t really know NCT lol). Time Lapse, Skyscraper and Tasty are my on-repeats. I’m also diggin WayV’s new album. Bounce Back giving me that true boyband pop rnb I needed. Excited to see new boy group patreon stuff! So glad you’ve caught up on NCT! They’ve had a stunning ride from 2022 into 2023 and I can’t wait for everything they’ve got coming. These songs were all amazing “Ay-yo” and “Phantom” are 100% my new favorite songs for 127 and WayV, they KILLED it. And Dream have been on a great streak music wise, everything hits. And everything they’ve got coming up this year is very exciting.

For NCT 127, you should check out the Sticker album! (alt Favorite which is Sticker repackaged) It's honestly the best introduction to how the 127 sound translates to a full album. It's just whacky enough and r&b enough and sweet enough. The tracklist flows really well, and the songs are easier listening than Sticker without making Sticker stick out cuz they are also off-kilter with 127 spice. Basically, everything fits. It just makes sense.

AyYo got me into NCT127, Favourite nearly did it but after AyYo I had to dive in. Then I watched Killing Voice and that was it. Oh you have to check out Killing Voice if you have not watched that yet! It was also first WayV comeback and totally fell in love with them! The album is so good, my fav is bounce back.

mann it's so difficult to choose a NCT album.. their bsides literally ALWAYS hit for me, no matter what unit. i think you're gonna enjoy the Ay-Yo repackage (from the 2 Baddies album) even though you didn't vibe with the main title track. and it's gonna be interesting cause 127 has the reputation of people not liking their title tracks but really enjoying the bsides for DREAM, i recommend the Beatbox repackage. i don't remember if you liked the title track or not, but for me it's one of their best albums

The Ay-yo repackage is so top tier. You definitely have to check out the b-sides! And I agree with you, I like this a lot more than 2 Baddies. Not that 2 baddies was bad, but this just feels more neo. It reminds me of punch and limitless.

You're right about the set from Candy. It's a reference to Glitch Mode. They're operating the candy factory and there's a glitch and 3 hearts escape lol. The story is they have to go out and retrieve them.

Phantom is clearly pointing out the qworld of the idol and the haters. In the lyrics the haters seem to be the phantom. They talk about how the truth vs. lies, good vs. bad. The phantom pull the strings, in darkness they loos their way. Standing on the dark only you can see the truth.... Stand against the distorted truth, reveal who you are... As how a couple of haters started spreading lies and the rest of anonimous nobodies spread and made up even bigger lies to ruin a person's life... But also in the visuals, you can see random daggers flying towards them, as in the people's hate aimed at them to bring them down... And there are different sets, like one that seems real but is actual the fake one, and they are dancing in a dusty, wore down set which might be their actual reality... Also Phantom can refer to Lucas being there in "soul" as a phantom. If you pay attention you can see many moments in their choreo where there is a space, and is deliberate because it doesn't correspond to any type of formation.

YOU ARE RIGHT !!! The music and lyrics are amazing, full of meaning. The MV 's production is the best. All WayV's MVs are HQ. These boys never disappointed, although they've been through a lot. For some reason(s), this comeback was so delayed that many fans lost their hope. SM gave WayV only a week to promote Phantom album (that tells a lot about the bad management and promotion when it comes to WayV) and they had to do it as a group of 5 members. But WayV proved that they are perfect no matter if all 7 members are performing or 6 or only 5.
