Back on the road again for the last dedicated trip for filming of 2022! Great timing too because I have my surgery rotation next, so who better to talk with than a talented and inspiring bunch of surgeons! The field of surgery is stigmatized by culture and many barriers of entry, but hearing the stories of these surgeons and surgery residents have truly shown that it is the job of current residents and medical students to change the culture for the better, and to become modern surgeons.

amazing video as always Andy!!! One thing i love about the concept of the modern surgeon is the idea that we all have an active role in shaping what it means to be a surgeon. I remember one of the biggest factors that made me unsure about pursuing surgery was the classic archetype of the "mean cold heartless surgeon". The feeling once you meet your first kind-hearted gentle surgeon and realize that being surgeon doesn't necessarily mean losing your personality in the process. It's a liberating feeling and it's so nice seeing this trend emerge in surgery.
