hello Fafa, my question is a little bit away from jollof rice, but will ask anyway... which type of cooking oil is most nutritious ; vegetable, sunflower, plant, soya , groundnut or coconut? and why? thanks.
@NdudubyFafa
@NdudubyFafa 6 жыл бұрын
The nutrients of most oils are destroyed when they reach a smoking point and can be harmful when consumed. Each type of oil has varying amounts of fats (Polyunsaturated, Monounsaturated and Saturated fats). Sunflower oil, Groundnut oil, Coconut oil and Avocado oils have high smoking points , which means you don’t loose most of its nutrients. Best to do more research (Google) and make your own informed choice.

Usually the protein is steamed to create a stock, so season as you like and cook. The stock is usually added to the Jollof to make it more tasty. Then you can proceed to fry or grill your protein.

@@EvolvingVintage oh okay! Do you take out the protein before cooking the rice?
@EvolvingVintage
@EvolvingVintage 4 жыл бұрын
@@piaseriza4200 you cook it separately from the rice. You can start the Jollof by frying meat in a pot, taking it out and then start Jollof process. Which is frying onions and and proceed. Hope this makes sense

That is definitely not the Ghanaian way. She put her own twist to it

+odeynaa yes it is. at least that similar to how my mom thought me. the only thing she did diffetently was add the grains of selim, which i never thought to use in jollof rice. My mom always uses that in coco(porridge). But i will try it in jollof

Thanks so much, for once someone actually give reasons as to y they did what they did while cooking thank you, thank you. Food taste so much better when is cooked in its own juice than it does in excessive water which in my opinion defeats de purpose. U add all the flavoring ingredients and then dilute it with all that water. Will definitely be trying ur jolof rice cooking method. Thanks again
