Thanks for this! I'm in the process of restoring/customizing 2 LMTVs and both have the door handles broken. This is a great how-to in order to upgrade the handles, as the factory ones are crap...

Those turned out awesome! Even better than the A1 trimarks I did a vlog on. Thanks for posting yet another alternative option!!

Just wanted to say thanks for this great video. It helped me a lot. I went outside and cut a similar Trimark handle in the passenger side. Now to run the rods, etc : )

@@NEILSWORLD I've been patient waiting for more snow plowing videos : ) Did all 6 hubs and CTIS seals. That was quite a job. All new synthetic gear oil. Good for 500k. Did you do anything special to measure the rod length to the latches. ? I'm going to take a swing at that today.
@NEILSWORLD4 жыл бұрын
@@urgentcareguy3 no, nothing special. I don't actually remember exactly how I measured the rod lengths. I may have put the original ones in and noted how much longer or shorter and matched the original bends from the latch down.

The reason you made rods was due to a difference in lengths needed between original handle rod length and the new handle rod lengths needed? Just placed my order for the handles, clips bezels. But curious about rods. Would rods for A1 be of the proper length? My truck didn't come with handles or rods. Hence why im asking.
@NEILSWORLD Жыл бұрын
You are correct. I made rods because they had to be a different length. I'm not sure if the A1 rods would be correct or not. They're not all designed exactly the same where the rods hook to the handles so probably not.

Neil, can I ask why you bent up new 1/8” rod instead of using the stock stuff?
@NEILSWORLD Жыл бұрын
The original ones were a great model to follow but the lengths needed to be different for these different style handles.

Have an issue with the rod end clips that I got at the link in your description. These are 4 mm clips, but the ones in your video appear different (colors). Mine are too big for some reason. Any thoughts?

Too big for the rod or two big for the hole? I thought they were a little too big for the hole but I forced them in.
