@@RB747domme He did. There's video of it. I'm not sure how close it was to the end, but he visited Freddie regularly after Freddie became house-bound. He used to sneak in the back, but I think the last time he came, he said, F*** it, and came in the front door. The press door-stopped him and asked him what he was doing there, he said, "I'm simply visiting a friend". God bless you Elton.

Elton sang this song with love, loss, and honour. He has nowhere near the vocal range of Mercury, but he is a hell of a musician and knows how to make it sound good regardless of his restrictions. Appreciate each songs performance for what it is, and don't expect perfection from those that are not the originators of the song, but are doing their best as a tribute to a fallen comrade.

I still feel this concert is one of the best, if not the best, ever. Not only did they get a great bunch of talents but NOBODY wanted to be the one who made a poor performance. They really did all they could to honour Freddie. Even Axl Rose & Guns n Roses were great, even if they did not show up to rehersal and were drunk as usually. I think it was Elton that stated Duff McKagan had the day before been so wasted that he barely knew what planet he was on.. Yet there he was making a great performance. Freddie meant that much to fellow musicians.

My admiration for this man only grows. It is not easy to sing a Freddie Mercury song, especialy a difficult one like this. Amazing!
