Unfortunately , it seems most australians order from US, since local dealers rarely invest in bigger stock and orders... At least this is what OPTIMUM PERCUSSION has replied me decades ago about sheet music.... But luckily mallets sell in huge numbers and fast, so Schlagkraft is busy now supplyimg the demand. As soon as they have some free time they will check also Australian options.... Percussionmallets.eu ships world wide for free if 6 pairs or more ordered.

Hi what kind of mallets do you think is the bast for young marimba soloist?

young soloist , ANY soloist (since young folks are playing veery serious stuff today), needs MANY mallets of all colors and hardnesses. BUt for general performance situation and for beginning, I recommend my three general models: NJZ-4 first, and tham NJZ-3 and NJz.5 in addition to it. NJZ-4 as set (two pairs) and NJZ-3 and NJZ-5 minimum pair of each. AFTER that I fould go for SET of NJZ-2 . with that selection most of the literature can be performed with reich and colorful sound in my humble opinion. cheers. see my pinned comment with link to three general modesl video.
