I got into an accident three years ago and my car slid backwards into a ditch, I felt nothing for almost a full year and then I had a really bad bout of bronchitis and suddenly the left side of my neck just gave out on me. First it was very very tight, and then with massage I was able to get it to loosen. In the process of going to physio and doing neck strengthening program. My symptoms are a feeling of being spaced out, all the time. I feel like I’m in a dream... doing neck lifts (when I’m on my side) produces some pain as the reps continue. This weird foggy feeling hasn’t gone away though. Exercise seems to intensify it too, which I think is a good sign that we’re tackling the right area... my physio is super hands on and asks a lot of questions and provides a lot of answers. She’s thinking that the left side was under duress for so long and the bronchitis was sort of the straw that broke the camels back, and the right side sort of picked up the slack, and that’s why I feel like a halo effect around my head and up the sides of my head (mostly left, the damaged side) I’m just wondering, have you experienced a patient with similar symptoms? What was their experience like? How long did the program take to see meaningful results? I’ve only been at it for two months, she tells me to keep positive because it was in pain for so long we have to slowly work back to a healthy neck. But sometimes... it’s just hard to stay positive. I feel like this has robbed me of three years of my life. I’m 29 :( Thanks guys. 🙏🏼

@@brodie_lee7904 neck feels good actually, I went to a physio and we did something similar to this. My neck pretty much was sore to the touch, even in areas that I wasn’t aware of. I still have this “out of it” feeling but a lot of it is facial/head muscles, swapping to a TMJ physio at the request of my first physio haha (tmj is not her speciality and she said I’d benefit from seeing someone who does this for a living)

I had a left shoulder scapula tear in feb 2019 it feels like a sharp object stuck in your scapula and sometimes changes location all over the scapula. symptoms- couldnot raise my shoulder without a sharp painin the scapula, pain in the scapula when i craned my neck to use the computer . treatment and timeline : physipotheapy stretches regularly for 6 months and muscle relaxants in first 2 months 1 month wear tshirts again without much pain, 3 months pain 50% lesser could ride bike again with good posture, 6 months pain almost negligible sudden sharp spasm when craning neck. 8 months dont even remember which shoulder it was in :) physipotheapy stretches : neck isometric @ 1:22 shoulder stabilization stretch @ 6:54 , neck isometrics would also make sharp spasms dissapear. remember your pain will go away and you wont even remember which shoudler it was in ..keep your head up

I was expecting this kind of exercises when I paid for 10sessions for physical therapy , somehow I got whiplash because someone in backseat pushed the driver seat and hit my neck pretty bad. But every session the dr just dedicated maybe 5 minutes on my neck and the rest was on treadmill,arm press,leg press and some other shoulder exercise. Wish they dedicated more time on my neck like these exercises . 1280 down the drain on my therapy:/

Question? I have not had my surgery yet. Stage 3 lymes disease is eating my spine out. I am to have a 4 lvl fusion ( C4to T1) T2 is getting a discetomy. What would be good for sleep when you are in the wait time period? I have tryed many...many things ( Tens,ENSP,muscle stimulation,RX,heat - that i found makes it worse, ice, pillows,sitting up, angle position, NSAID (Pill and topical form) It all seems to be a surgery thing up till now. I even changed out my bed itsself. I go nightly with 1-3 hours of sleep and waking in so much pain ( Even on pain meds) It makes me physically ill. I went this morning to pain management in the ER to over come a 4 day sorrow. Suggestions?

So if you get whiplash or hit in the back of the head so which part of the neck is week and which is over stretched? Should I focus on building strength in the back more or the front? Or if it hurts to turn or tilt to one side how to strengthen to create balance again... This is 3 months after the whiplash.

Love your videos. For the past couple of months I've had something new, a "hitch" every so often in the middle of my neck when I turn my head. I realized today it might be connected to me doing a particular thing. That thing is: two tennis balls in a sock, put them on the back of my head/upper neck and let them slide down my neck while lying on the floor. This relieves pain and tension, but could I have done some damage? Maybe not a good idea?
@bgie97773 жыл бұрын
Good question. My totally unqualified thought is that would be therapeutic unless done too aggressively or erratically. What happened to make you start doing that? Maybe the damage came before the behavior.
