An interesting tidbit of more indepth knowledge. As to the validity of the claim there seems to be a fair amount of conjecture. But anyway, the Hudson hornets racing success around the tracks of the US could likely be attributed to the directional spin of the engine. It's said to be a little known thing, but generally engines in cars spin clockwise adding slight outward centrifugal force towards the outside of the track. Whereas the Hudson spun counter clockwise giving the same or similar force towards the inside of the track. Thus turns to the left are much easier than in other vehicles. Now, before this gets a lot of "UHNUHHH!" I'm just going by the interview notes of actual racers that raced Hudson's back in the day.

Personally, I’d like for Cars 4 to focus on Lightning deciding he’s driving off the track for good to focus full-time on mentoring Cruz, but not before giving it his all for one last season. Maybe have it be the culmination of everything we’ve seen up to that point, and repurpose that unused ending for Cars 3 to combine both the slipstream and the Doc Flip, maybe repeatedly flashing between when Doc and Cruz did to Lightning’s attempt.
