Can someone plz explain me as to why can't the Phosphate group of RNA primer bind with the OH group of Nucleotide but it's exact opposite happens ? If it takes place then there's no problem with continuous replication from 3' - 5' end of the template strand.
@philanthropist20104 жыл бұрын
Because phosphate is not a functional group...As mam said @ 8:13 a nucleotide can bind where there is function grp so it binds at OH end and not phosphate end

@isaacsolomon46015 жыл бұрын
When it's bound in the DNA , it has only one phosphate . Phosphate binds to the phosphate of the next nucleotide . Phosphate back bone

Mam i am little bit confused. you are saying that the 3' end of primer should be in front of 5' end of template strand then why addition of nucleotide takes place in 5'-3' direction in this way the 5' end of primer will be in front of 3' end of template strand . pleas help me.

sucheta sharma 3'( or 3 prime ) means that in that strand 3rd carbon of pentose sugar is free and same with 5'
@maneeshasweet7 жыл бұрын
Muhammad Danish Rana why we use ' on 3 or 5
@WHYANANYA20206 жыл бұрын
The ' is just to denote the carbon which is a little different or of our interest from the other carbon atoms present like 1,2 or 4 while 3 n 5 denote the polarity so they are of interest hence 3' and 5'
