Had the Freeman 451 when it was in D2 and sold it a few months later. The striations on the grind are eye candy but are a flaw on the knife. The striations create a binding effect when making long cuts to slicing an apple. Where the striations meet with the bevel it also gets in the way when freehand sharpening. He only made the knife for a year or so and then discontinued it.

@acid6urns5 ай бұрын
highly debatable on the griptilian claim. good work knife but it’s far from the best pocket knife period. even in benchmades own lineup the mini barrage, presidio 2, and the redoubt are better imo but i’m a spyderco guy (i do own two griptilians though)

@@acid6urns I mean it’s the most comfortable, efficient, strong, and useful. I have batoned with it, I have made dozens of feathersticks with it, I have carried it a ton, and I just think it’s the most perfect knife. @@chrisjosekuehl I do really want one of those. However it is $30-$50 more depending on what you want. And I do think it might be superior however it is a coby of the Freek, also by Benchmade. Might be coincidence, they might not of, the RSK might have been made and released first but I don’t know.
@chrisjosekuehl5 ай бұрын
@@chasewells5464the rsk is is designed the guy that designed the griptillian, it’s a copy of the griptillian or it was the original, but for the extra cost you much better steel and better scales. I think maganacut and 20cv are the options. And if you’ve never tried the Hogue crossbar lock it’s probably the best crossbar lock on the market. I used to be a griptillian fan, I’ve had 3, but the prices are getting crazy, while Hogue prices haven’t gone up or they have barely gone up, they also have a lifetime warranty and lifetime sharpening.
