It’d be really sad if he sacrifices himself for Maggie in dead city, I don’t want this man to just end his story that way. He needs a proper storybook ending.

Nah, the bad side of him was always there. He just had a little bit of control of it when the world hadn't went to shit, and still some small amount after the outbreak, before his wife died. And that side will always be there, even once he's grown to realize how terrible it is and how terrible he was. His full redemption would be a constant, daily struggle not allowing himself to slip back into letting that side take full control again. He's absolutely a nuanced character, but he's always been a douchebag. That's literally the point of his character, is struggling to fully realize how bad you are/were and accepting that enough to grow from it and want to be better. He will struggle with that until the day he dies, even if he gets to a point that this part of him is nothing but background noise most of the time.

I don't watch this show, but I wanted to know what is in his eye socket bad enough(because I can't tell in this video) that I went to Google and searched for an answer, and was lead to a reddit thread about it, and someone linked an Imgur page with a few behind the scenes pics of this actor wearing the eye socket prosthetics. 2 pics of the fresh wound, and then 2 pics of it healed over, which is what we see here, I think. From what I've heard, the "orbit" (which is another word for the eye socket) is, in this case without a surgical procedure to add in tissue from another part of the human body (for obvious reasons why he can't visit the hospital), able to eventually heal over the orbit when the body itself will eventually create tissue to cover over the "orbit", and thus look like a flat, non-featured part of the face where the eye would've been. Hence, you can see skin beginning to grow between the space of the "orbit". I'm no doctor, though. Just what I read.

I think this shows Negan’s overbearing, dude bro-esque personality perfectly. Carl is traumatized over the events that led him to lose his eye, so he despises the scar. He never killed people in their sleep. He is a multi layered character and this seen was punishment. He could have done alot worse.

I like Jeffrey very much as an actor but he was awful in seasons 7 and 8 and then they spent 3 seasons trying to make him a saint. In Dead City he plays a different role.
