I’ve literally heard people say “I don’t wanna drive a car for more than three years”. This leasing culture has ultimately thrown everything out of whack. The car industry makes cars that people absolutely can’t afford with the exception of being able to lease them. A perfect example is the BMW XM which is about $160,000 but can be released for about $1500 per month. People buy this stuff that depreciates fast and then when they get finished with it, it goes back on these lots and simply rots because either no one else can afford it or no one can afford the insurance and maintenance cost associated with having one. Then these other people get the mentality that they need a new car every time their old car gets past what they consider to be “new”. Attempting to keep up with the Joneses is a losing proposition.

Hoovie waited two years for a Cyber Truck and was looking at losing 40 thousand dollars depreciation the first year when he finally got it. He traded it in within a week. It didn't even have time to even get dirty. Car Max wouldn't take it for any price for the same reason. Instead he traded it in to a Chevy dealer for a one year old 70,000 dollar top of the line Cadillac with 8,000 miles on it. He bought the car for less than he was going to lose on the Cyber Truck. Despite two mark downs already, the Chevy dealer still hasn't moved it. I wouldn't want to be peddling used EV's these days, that's for sure. All those people who bought EV's and get new cars every three years? They are all in for a very rude awakening. These things are losing almost half their value the very first year.
