Today I graduated from highschool. I found this video a few days ago, and I felt it was the perfect one to just sit and listen to, while remembering the past all the way up to this point. I remember being at my lowest point on January because I genuinely believed I wouldn't succeed. I wouldn't be able to party with friends without always knowing the fact that I never finished strong this year. But somehow I did. I gained enough courage to start asking for more help, even if I have my own issues with socializing. Even if there was some alternative world where I failed, I'm sure I would be absolutely ashamed for not pushing hard enough. But truthfully, that doesn't mean my journey would end. No matter what, there's always another chance to try harder and succeed in what you previously failed on. Don't ever feel the need to give up. Learn from those mistakes and place your efforts harder the next time. To anyone who couldn't reach success the first time, wherever you are, I give my sincerest hopes to you. Every old face that made your soul beam with joy that you definitely didn’t mean to leave behind, especially those of which you have learned had died young, or aren’t doing quite so well in the present, cross your mind from time to time, and even visit you in your dreams sometimes. Old friends who you have long since parted ways from, start to feel like strangers as they move on without you, breaking every piece of your soul that used to be bound and secure by their bond with you. You try to find new friends, create new memories, and make yourself present in every possible way- Yet; somehow, despite being married, maybe with kids, maybe not with kids, a stable job or just scraping by at a crappy one.. You just wish, for one moment, that you could relive a moment of your youth. You never realised how hard life was about to become the moment you graduated, you didn’t ask for it, either. But alas, you must endure this often very lonely existence. Because regardless of how you feel, or how much you feel your purpose here is non-existent; your younger and innocently unaware self will forgive you for still having the will to keep trying to figure out the answer to your emptiness. I have yet to find the answer to my own. But that doesn’t mean I won’t. Our average life expectancy gives us that precious chance to keep trying. And until my time is up? I am going to fight myself out of this void, one way or the other. And so should you. ❤
