So about a month ago I found this broadcast. Here we go again with the true name of God. Kinda half listened and moved on. So last night during study time I run across Matthew was written in hebrew. Hmmmm. This could be interesting. Oh boy was it. Short time later I'm downloading and read a book called The Hebrew Yeshua vs. The Greek Jesus. Fascinating read which I'll finish tonight. And it has answered so many questions I've had on Rabbinical Judaism. So driving today I've listened to the Hebrew gospel of Matthew and wow you catch it right away. So here I am sitting in my truck pondering this stuff and searching for something to listen to on my ride home. And what pops up.....This broadcast...and WAIT.. WHAT....THIS IS THE GUY who's book I'm reading. Ok, you have my undivided attention this time. Shalom

I am an SDA Christian, and we also worship God on the Sabbath Day, we pay tithes and offerings. We believe in Jesus as the Messiah. God's name, according to our Prophetess, Ellen G White is Jehovah (Yehovah). She mentions it 2,050 times as God the Father's Personal Name. In the King James Bible (Jehovahjireh - Jehovah provides Genesis 22:14; JEHOVAH - God's name Genesis 6:3; Jehovahnissi Exodus 17:15; and Jehovahshalom gives peace Judges 6:24).

Nehemia, thank you for your diligence. Jehovah's Witnesses have always taught that Jesus was saying that because the leaders had put themselves in an authority position on the seat of Moses that it was to obeyed based on the written Law Moses received and not on the deeds of what was displayed orally by those leaders. In the New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures, (NWT) we have respectfully retained Jehovah's name in its rightful places in both "Old and New Testaments," as shown below Matthew 1: 20 But after he had thought these things over, look! Jehovah’s angel appeared to him in a dream, saying: “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take your wife Mary home, for what has been conceived in her is by holy spirit. 21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” 22 All of this actually came about to fulfill what was spoken by Jehovah through his prophet, saying:
@strappedfatman785810 ай бұрын
Like in the Gospel of Mark the short and long conclusion was not originally there. The NWT ends at Mark 16:8 Jesus is the Lamb of The God of Abraham YHVH Yehovah Jehovah Mark 16:8 In the Gospel of Mark. If the women tell no one then, Who is ! What each Gospel story is about. The four living creatures! Matthew Who was! Mark Who is! Luke Who is Coming! John The Lamb of YHVH! The four gospels are associated with the four living creatures: Matthew, the man, Mark the lion, Luke the ox, and John the eagle. John has Jesus dying on a different day. It's the Day of Preparation, not the Day of Preparation for Passover. It was the day they prepared the lambs for sacrifice. While at the same time, Jesus is prepared for sacrifice. Jesus is the Lamb of YHVH Yehovah Jehovah a man, a lion, an ox and an eagle. The man symbolises the prophet; the lion, kingship; the ox, priesthood, and the eagle, fatherhood.

Nehemia, I have been quite impressed by your work on the pronunciation of the Tetragrammaton. FI can not say you are right or wrong in Yahovah, but you did teach me something important about Hebrew names, and that is their translation verse their transliteration. You also once mentioned Hebrew names speak about the character, and that they speak about the memorial or how we are to think of someone. When Moses asked God, "what is your name," God answered with ehyah asher ehyah, or just "I am." Later God told the Hebrews through Moses we are to memorialize or characterize HIM with the word Yahovah when other people asked us who we worship. An example would be me asking you what God do you worship. You would say Yahovah. Yahovah means "He is." The truth is that is what you would say to me even if you said Yahovah, I could translate it as "He is." I too believe in the the God, "He is." If you were to ask Him His name today, He would say I AM in response to you. So we know how God refers to Himself when He speaks, and we know how to refer to Him when we speak to other people. I would take a great leap of faith and guess when we are referring to him in prayer, we would not change the pattern and refer to Him as "you are" I believe that is "tehyah" in Hebrew, but I am sure I mangled the spelling. So depending on how God is referenced God could be rightly called by the memorial "I am, You are, and He is." I don't think God has a name like yours or mine, for there was no one to give him a name. He existed before creation, He existed before anyone could give Him a name. I think it is good to know the correct pronunciation, but just saying it, you will discover is not magical. Learning the true meaning of the name, and why God chose to call Himself "I am that I am," is the beginning of wisdom. What wisdom is that? God existed before anything came into existence, He exists now, and He will exist after heaven and earth pass away. I see what you mean by Hebrew words convey a meaning deeper that the sound the letters create. Arguing about the pronunciation is ridiculous, because in the translation we believe in the same. He is alive, and as He says in scripture, we are not to refer to him as Baal or Lord, as the gentiles do. He has a name, and His name is His character. May Yahovah bless you and in your time welcome you home.

A modern more accurate rendering of Exodus 3:14 So God said to Moses: “I Will Become What I Choose to Become. Another rendering is: “I Will Prove to Be What I Will Prove to Be." So in other words, God's name Jehovah (the English pronunciation) means he causes to become. Hope this clarifies things for you.

In the Gospel According to Matthew, the Savior is to be known as “Emmanuel,” which means “God with us” (Matthew 1:23). This is not His Personal name, it is a descriptive name identifying who He is to us. He is “God with us,” Emmanuel! Also, “He shall be called a Nazarean” (Matthew 2:23, Nazarene), however, His Personal name is by revelation and is a specific name (Matthew 1:21). Matthew 2:23 “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, ‘He shall be called a Nazarean.’” Question: Where did the prophets in the Old Testament prophesy, “He shall be called a Nazarean”? Answer: There is no prophet in the Old Testament, who prophesied, “He shall be called a Nazarean”! Question: Well then, do we know what His Personal name truly is? Answer: The angel of the Lord said, “...you shall call His name…” (Matthew 1:21). This is a commandment, which makes the actual revealed name given to the Savior of utmost importance. Most would say that the Savior’s name is “Jesus.” Unfortunately, this name was never revealed by God, nor did God authorize the name Jesus. Question: So it goes, did the angel say the name, “Jesus?” This is what we need to know. Answer: No. Historically, the name Jesus has only existed in its present form since the 17th century. A change was made that caused the Savior’s supposed name to become Jesus, which was never authorized by God. In the 1611 KJV of the Bible, we find the name “Iesus.” Pronounced “ee-sus” changed to Jesus, “gee-sus,” after the year 1632. No angel gave the commandment from God to the disciples of Christ allowing them to call Christ by the name, “Jesus.” Therefore, the name Jesus is a substitute name. Iesus comes from Iesous, which is a transliteration of the name Yeshua. Because the name of the Savior is a revealed name, this kind of linguistic evolution is not honored by God, which defies His revelation and commandment. To accept a substitute name is to reject the very name revealed by God. More specifically, substitute names, such as Jesus, Iesus, or Iesous are in reality a rejection of the true revealed name of the Savior. Question: Why does it matter what name we use, after all, I speak English so I say, “Jesus.” And someone else speaks Spanish, so they say, “Hey-zeus.” or another speaks Arabic, and they say, “Isa.” So there are many names for Christ, right? Answer: God knows all things, but He also knows that the name that was revealed by Him was rejected for a substitute name not authorized by Him. The following Scriptures prohibit the use of any other name but the revealed name from Heaven. YAHSHUA is the revealed name commanded by God to be given to the Savior. It is an exclusive name and not to be changed. Acts 4:8 “Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them, ‘Rulers of the people and elders of Israel: 9 If we this day are judged for a good deed done to a helpless man, by what means he has been made well, 10 let it be known to you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of YAHSHUA the Messiah of Nazareth, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, by Him this man stands here before you whole. 11 This is the ‘stone which was rejected by you builders, which has become the chief cornerstone.’ 12 Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.” Therefore, choose this day that you will accept the one name given among men by which we must be saved! From these three names, Jesus, Iesus, and Iesous come all the substitute names unauthorized by God around the world. The essence of the Gospel tells us we stand condemned if we reject the revealed name of the Savior by accepting a substitute name instead. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved. 18 He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.” Matthew 1:20 “But while he thought about these things, behold, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream, saying, ‘Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to take to you Mary your wife, for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Spirit. 21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He will save His people from their sins.’” Consider the prophet Isaiah, who wrote, “Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; ‘For YAH, the Lord, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation’” (Isaiah 12:2 NKJV, which accurately translates from the Hebrew). Sing to God, sing praises to His name; Extol Him who rides on the clouds, by His name YAH, and rejoice before Him” (Psalm 68:4 NKJV). YAH is the essential name for our salvation as expressed in the name YAHSHUA, YAH=I AM, and shua=salvation. Question: How do we know for sure that our Savior’s one and only true name that was given for our salvation is the name YAHSHUA? Answer: Throughout the Hebrew and New Testament Scriptures, Christ our Savior is the LORD YAH (Isaiah 44:6-8, Christ is the Rock, 1 Corinthians 10:1-4). YAH means “I AM” (Exodus 3:13-15). YAH (I AM) is the name which is above every name (Philippians 2:9). Christ told the Jews that He is YAH, as in “I AM” (John 8:58). The apostle Paul encounters Christ on the Road to Damascus, and asks “Who are you Lord?” Christ replies in Hebrew His name (Acts 26). Paul identifies in the letter to the Philippians 2:9, “He has the name which is above every name.” An angel of the LORD comes to Joseph in a dream, and says, “And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name YAHSHUA, for He will save His people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21). YAHSHUA means “I AM Salvation.” The apostle Paul was very clear that in every language His name is to be the same, “and that every tongue should confess that YAHSHUA the Christ is LORD, to the glory of God the Father” (Philippians 2:11). Hebrew names very often consist of two elements: a verb and the name of God, in this case, יה (YAH), which is short for יהוה; YHWH or YaHaWaH, the living God of Israel. This name given to Moses means YAH=I AM, hawah=to be, as in ever-present, and so God’s name means I AM Ever-present. Question: Where in the Hebrew Scripture does any of the prophets say, “He shall be called a Nazarean?” Answer: It could not be found anywhere in the Scriptures that a prophet said, “He shall be called a Nazarean (or Nazarene). Therefore, we must take a closer look at the name Nazareth, and we found the following: Nazareth, isolated, generally supposed to be the Greek form of the Hebrew netser, a "shoot" or "sprout,” or “branch.” Matthew is telling us that He, Christ, is “the Branch,” as the prophets foretold. When we take a closer look at the word Nazarean (Nazarene) we find a meaning, a Hebrew meaning. This is what Matthew was telling us, that YAHSHUA is the Branch as spoken by the prophets. Isaiah 4:2, “In that day the Branch of the Lord shall be beautiful and glorious, and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped.” Isaiah 11:1 “There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. Jeremiah 23:5 “Behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord {YAH}, “That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, and execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. 6 In His days Judah will be saved, and Israel will dwell safely; Now this is His name by which He will be called: ‘THE LORD {YAH} OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.’ 7 “Therefore, behold, the days are coming,” says the Lord {YAH}, “that they shall no longer say, ‘As the Lord {YAH} lives who brought up the children of Israel from the land of Egypt,’ 8 but, ‘As the Lord {YAH} lives who brought up and led the descendants of the house of Israel from the north country and from all the countries where I had driven them.’ And they shall dwell in their own land.” Jeremiah 33:14 ‘Behold, the days are coming,’ says the Lord, ‘that I will perform that good thing which I have promised to the house of Israel and to the house of Judah: 15 ‘In those days and at that time I will cause to grow up to David A Branch of righteousness; He shall execute judgment and righteousness in the earth. Zechariah 3:8 ‘Hear, O Yeshua, the high priest, you and your companions who sit before you, for they are a wondrous sign; for behold, I am bringing forth My Servant the BRANCH. Zechariah 6:12, Then speak to him, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts, saying: “Behold, the Man whose name is the BRANCH! From His place, He shall branch out, and He shall build the temple of the Lord; 13 Yes, He shall build the temple of the Lord. He shall bear the glory, and shall sit and rule on His throne; So He shall be a priest on His throne, and the counsel of peace shall be between them both.”’ Therefore, the apostle Matthew was correct, “And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, ‘He shall be called a Nazarean.’” He shall be called the Nazarean, which means He is the Branch, YAHSHUA the Nazarean! The Nazarean Ministry of YAHSHUA

THE GREAT SECRET--"FOR THERE IS NOTHING COVERED THAT WILL NOT BE REVEALED" (Mat. 10.26) The NewTestament, the Church, and Christianity, were all the creation of the Calpurnius Piso (pronounced Peso) family, who were Roman aristocrats. The New Testamentand all the characters in it--Jesus, all the Josephs, all the Mary’s the disciples, apostles, Paul, and John the Baptist--are all fictional. The Pisos created the story and the characters; they tied the story into a specific time and place in history; and they connected it with someperipheral actual people, such as the Herods, Gamaliel, the Roman-procurators, etc. But Jesus and everyone involved with him were created (that is, fictional!) characters. In the middleof the first century of the present era, Rome’asristocracy felt itself confronted with a growing problem. The Jewish religion was continuing to grow in numbers, adding ever more proselytes. Jews numberedmore than 8,000,000, and were 10%of the population of the empire and 20%of that portion living east of Rome. Approximately half or more of the Jews lived outside Palestine, of which many were descended from proselytes, male and female.

YH is pronounced as YEH or YEHU in Hebrew. Even today YHDH is pronounced as "YEHUdah" and it means Judah. The Jews are called YHDM which is pronounced as "YEHUdim", so it makes sense that YHWH would be pronounced as YEHUwah.

Does the spelling or pronunciation of the name really matter that much? God gave us commandments. Will he not know His people who keep His commandments? God has one will. If we do God's will, will he reject us, saying "No! You pronounced and spelled my name wrong unintentionally!" God knows the hearts of men. If you do His will, you know Him for who He is. Did God command us to remember how to spell his name? God commanded us to remember the SABBATH day and to keep it holy. Imagine getting God's name right and not seeing the life, and imagine now someone spelling God's name wrong and living a righteous life and obeying The Creator and seeing it instead. The matter is, spelling or pronouncing God's name right isn't going to save you if you still live in sin!

Zion2030 Actually, in the English language Jehovah is the correct pronounciation of God's name. Study linguistics and you will find from many languages for the Most part are similar or the same in either transliteration, sound and or spelling. I can provide proof.

I suppose you'll also provide proof that Yahweh is Jehovah? The fact is no one can be certain of the phonetics, even in our own english langauge weve seen so many changes in how we sound words in just a couple of hundred years, I cant imagine what a few thousand would do. I grew up speaking english properly, yet I struggle sometimes to understand the youths and their use of it being just a couple of decades apart.

Zion2030 This is interesting that you should say no one knows the correct pronounciayion of God's name Can you tell me what is the correct pronunciation of the Messiah s name?
@Zion-jw3gm6 жыл бұрын
Your talking about Linguistics I'm talking about phonetics as in related to the idea of dialect. We can each spell out a name correctly and pronounce it differently, this is my point. We're told vowels added to the name of Yehovah was a much later addition, so without it, it's left open to interpretation as is the case amongst scholars today. Nehemiah's research is ground breaking stuff and even he has made similar comments to myself a lay person. I'm told YeH shoowah is how to sound the Messiahs Hebrew name, I have no problems with that nor do I have a problem with anyone calling him Jesus. My main point is how certain can we truly be? I personally won't put my stake in the ground only to have trouble pulling it out at some later revelation. For example. "12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and HE HAD A NAME written, that NO MAN KNEW, but he himself.

The only people that claim that's the name, most don't even speak Hebrew they just go off what they've been told, then the few that do speak Hebrew have 0 proof of that pronunciation, that doesn't even work in Hebrew to begin with. The entire thing is based off of the vav originally having a W sound instead of V, again no proof just assumptions. Nehemiah comes with proof from manuscripts so you can feel free to "differ" all you want and walk around sounding like someone trying to speak a langue they don't know 🤷

I first came upon Nehemia's discussion of the name of God through being informed by a friend. The short version is that I no longer use "Yahweh" as the name for God, but I rather use Yehovah or Jehovah (in writing). I am, however, concerned about several potentially serious errors in the above discussion. The first is that we can question if Jesus really said something. That means if we do not like something, we can look for some different manuscript that might have something more to our liking. That is dangerous thinking. The second error is that for which the Jewish apostle Saul (Paul) wrote to believers in the province of Galatia about. Perhaps his most significant statement is this: "Having begun in the Spirit, are you perfected in the flesh?" Why was that young man in Jerusalem trying to keep the rabbinical rules? If he had been properly instructed from Galatians, he would realize that trying to keep the Law--unless he was brought up keeping the Law--is a waste of time and potentially deadly spiritually. Why was not anyone trying to show him that? The third error is failing to consider carefully the context of Matthew 23:2,3a. Am I supposed to believe that if a Pharisee sat in "the seat of Moses," he could demand that people do as he said? That sounds too far-fetched to accept without some pretty hard evidence. Note the latter part of verse 3: "...but do not do after their works, for they say and do not." Jesus warned his disciples that they might be expelled from synagogues, but he did not teach them to start out setting up rival synagogues. Jewish believers would often be going to their local synagogues (until the opposition became too great). The scribes and Pharisees were trained in the Torah, much as Ezra had been, but unfortunately not with Ezra's character. They could tell what the Law said about loving one's neighbor and doing good to others, but their examples is these areas were often badly lacking. Jesus went on to point out various deeds of these Jewish leaders that were not worthy of following. One does not need to attack the Greek text to show a young man why slavish adherence of the "oral Torah" is not needed. I think research in ancient manuscripts is good, but I hope that too much confidence in one's finds will not obscure the benefits of the research. John

Sorry Nehemías, but saying that the Aleppo codex is the most acurated witness of the tanaj is bias, its like saying that the textus receptus is more acurated than some other older greek manuscrips, it's makes no sence at all, the LXX it's more reliable than the Aleppo codex by common sence and because Qumran and the samaritan tanaj suport the LXX to , now it's sad that we don't have the hebrew manuscrips from were the LXX were translated, but at least we have an older and more reliable witness than the Aleppo codex.

Nehemia Gordon is a false teacher. He seeks to establish the name Yehovah, which has come about by adding vowels from the word Eloah (e-o-a) to YHWH, or the modified form YHVH, and so YeHoVaH. This is not the revealed name given to Moses. Nehemia uses Medieval sources, which is the Jewish practice of adding vowels to YHWH, however, these are not the true vowels. We say, "Halleluyah," which means Praise YAH, not Yeh. "If you will not hear, and if you will not take it to heart, to give glory to My name,” Says the Lord of hosts, “I will send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings. Yes, I have cursed them already, because you do not take it to heart" (Malachi 2:2). Using a name that is a concoction YHWH + (e-o-a)= Yehovah.

Hebrew Matthew? According to Jerome what Matthew wrote in was Chaldee written with the Ketav Asuri. That's what they referred to as Hebrew. This language you calling Hebrew was not called that originally as was the language of Greeks from Crete/Caphtor who invaded Canaan and removed a race of giants and dwelt in their stead. Real Hebrew is Chaldee. Your language is Cretan Greek; and so are you and your ancestors.

Do you know that Yeshua was Jewish and spoke Hebrew? The Gospel of John says the Yeshua DID reveal the Father's Name to his disciples. Nehemia explains in this episode: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qYaye4ClpbN-qKs Allusions to the Father's Name, which is a Jewish teaching method, are all through John 17. Nehemiah has not recognized Yeshua as the Jewish Messiah, YET. But he is on a razor thin edge to get there. He does recognize that Yeshua was Torah observant and taught His followers to follow Torah and to love the Father. According to Peter in quoting Joel 2, Nehemia does call on the Name of "the Lord" and has a place in the World to Come (Jewish expression for God's eternal kingdom). What is "the Lord's" Name in Joel 2?? It is NOT Yeshua; it is YHVH! Yehovah! I believe that Nehemia will be greatly instrumental in leading his people to Yeshua when King Messiah returns to the earth. Please watch more of Nehemia before you judge him.

Are you??? Listen, Rhonda, if you don't care to know someone's name, that's fine. It's obnoxious and rude but that's how satan rolls. You are the "they" that Yeshua spoke to us about. "They will hate you for my NAME'S sake." You're so STUCK in Greek that you display hate for those who know and use His NAME given by YHVH in HEBREW. EVERY Hebrew name is a word or sentence unto itself. Deeper than that, even. Every character to every name is a word unto itself. Every line in every character is a word unto itself. Deeper than that, every character has a corresponding number that has a meaning unto itself. Every line in every character has a number corresponding to yet another word. If you LOVE Him you would want to know these things. I bet you know more about your dog or boyfriend than Yeshua. And Yeshua and YHVH are not the same. Yeshua is King. YHVH is God. Yeshua is the living Word of God. Yeshua is not God. When He taught the disciples to pray (not how to pray), He did not begin with His own name or even a reference to Himself. Not in any of it. And that too has been found IN HEBREW. Good luck, Rhonda. 😏
