That last story reminds me of a judge from Michigan, named Theresa Brennan. She was very condescending to everyone in the courts, especially the lawyers. She ended up getting in trouble for a couple of cases and being sentenced to six months in jail. Very deserving.

Ditto, and ditto. I wait till seatbelts are on before even putting it in gear. If people don't immediately put their seatbelt on, they eventually ask why we're still sitting here, and get told it's because they haven't buckled up yet. If I'd been this driver, when told "well I guess we're not going anywhere," I would've said "Oh, we are. You're not, but we are. Get out." I wouldn't even call the taxi for her. She can stand there all day for all I care.

Story 1: After seeing the picture it's easy to see why parking is an issue. If so many people are parking there, despite what OP says, its not clear who the parking spots belong to.

I always wonder.. PTO is PAID. Employers cannot scratch it. They can pay it as a lump sum, but if they scratch it, it's stealing salary. So if they say "you did't use it so it's gone", the correct answer is: That is my salary. Pay or get a lawsuit.

I got the sense from the story about the judge that it was not exclusively due to the incident involving OP that she was demoted. OP did state that the judge made other, more serious errors. Regardless, it would have been satisfying for OP, and it made me smile to hear the story. Nightmare bosses are intolerable!

We've only been towed once. My brother sis and I went to see a movie, then parked near a clearly marked NO Parking sign not far from the police station and I warned him not to park there. Guess what happened? Yeah, my brother spent the equivalent of $50US getting our dad's car out of the station's lot. My brother still has a lead foot and can weave like a bumblebee, but he pays attention to signs now. And the hotel story: Dude, if she can laugh at her own folly, she's definitely the one for you. That's a couple in it for the long haul.

I have a little parking story. I live in the south, and people are generally pretty friendly. Sadly many transplants here live up to the "rude Yankee" stereotype. I was in a nice neighborhood for a yard sale. Parked on street between 2 houses, behind others, and saw 3 people across the street clearly talking smack about the yard sale. I got out and one of the men shouted at me in a snarky NY accent that he'd like me to move, that he's not part of this yard sale and I shouldn't be in front of his house. (The end of my car was in front of the edge of his large yard, but fair enough.) I apologized, embarrassed as he lectured me about not approving of this yard sale even though I was already leaving. I moved and was parked about 5 minutes (nothing good.) Technically the street wasn't his property, but a lot of snowbirds seem to have trouble being chill. The other two with him seemed impressed with his ability to take control of the situation. 🙄

No, best not do it. You could get in major trouble if you did that depending on where you live. Seen it happen when a non-law enforcement person did it and had to pay for some of the damages. Not all, but some because the action taken exceeded the rightful amount of retaliation. If you by chance do it, make sure nobody is around or more importantly make sure that there are no cameras around. Also, check to see the laws in your area before doing anything.

Where i used to live there was a fair/fest once a year. Rides, vendors, games, a stage, foreworks, etc. It was in the huge park that my house. We would always have a big get together because, obvious. Normally people would have to park and go around the neighbourhood. But some times some people qould want a short cut and go through my backyard, or even park in my driveway. Not cool. Always the same reaponse from me. Nope, go around just like everyone else, no trespassing, move the car or it gets towed. I had a big dog at the time, so no one argued. He didnt bark, he was friendly and just expected scritches from these new friends lol. (But i guess they didnt know that. I only ever made 1 acception. A qoman and her young son (maybe 5 or 6) came to my door, knocked, and asked if she could pay us to park. Since she asked, was nice, and the kid wanted to pet the doggie. We said she could park there, and freely use the back yard, join our get together if she wanted, and we refused her money. So, don't be a dick. Be kind.
