Really? I’ve always wondered about that. I’ve lived in my house for the last 43 years, and my two next door neighbors have been here longer than me and the neighbor across the street has been here for 20+ years…so I’ve only known good neighbors. All of our dogs play together and we all buy each other treats and even dog sit for each other…so I’ve always thought that neighbors with dogs did the same. It’s kinda sad to hear that good neighbors are hard to find, but i agree that this is so sweet and they’re blessed to have found each other. Do you have a pup too? Or a kitty?

No they aren't, you just need to go out and make an effort. Introduce yourself, be friendly instead of waiting for them to do it. In my experience most people are good if you are good to them. My family welcome people to our neighbourhood when they move in and invite them to BBQ's etc. There are neighbourhood apps you can invite them to that is a good way to break the ice also, like 'Nextdoor'.

When a dog makes a best friend it’s no joke! I love that the people are fostering this relationship between their dogs. My sister’s dog also loves to visit the neighbour across from the backyard, when building a new fence they put a gate between both yards for the kids to play. Two girls from one family and two boys from the other are the same age and have been growing up together for years. So when a “good girl” joined my nieces she wanted to join her humans sisters when playing with the boys. The other family welcomed the new doggy member with open arms and gave her a second home with them whenever needed. Now the dog has twice the love, the boys get to occasionally experience taking care of a pet and my sister never needs to worry about her dog when they are away. And yes, the dog definitely goes to visit on her own to see if anyone there wants to play😊

I know one of my cats cohabitates with another family and has for years but i have no idea who they are. He comes home smelling like fabric softener that I don't use. It smells nice. I imagine lots of dogs do the same. It's nice knowing who they are in your case. I used to be concerned then I realized that if my cat liked them enough to go there voluntarily they must be my kind of people. Everything i need to know about a person is how they treat animals...

We got an Airbnb out in the county in northern MN for a week for a fall get away. We brought our pitbull mix, and the second we got out of our car the neighbor dogs were there to greet us. From morning to night he played with their big hound and tiny little chihuahua mix. The chihuahua would jump in our laps and loved me and my husband and especially our pitty mix. The hound wouldn’t get anywhere near us but loved wrestling with our boy. Honestly was the best vacation ever! We had planned a bunch of hikes and fall color nature walks, but mostly just stayed at the cabin and let the dogs play❤
