As a former engineer, I always admired Neil Armstrong and got a kick out of the fact that he, like all the early astronauts, was an engineer. He was a humble man, who, unlike John Glenn, never sought personal fame or fortune from his place in history. He flew his missions brilliantly, calmly did what needed to be done, and, when the time came to speak the very first words from the surface of the Moon, somehow managed to muff his lines. Only an engineer could do that.

Neil had all the qualities one would admire, humility was one of them. RIP My inspiration

If not for engineers we'd all be living in holes in the ground screeching and flinging poop at each other.
