My mother and her best friend conversed this way. Their minds were running so fast and they both know the other so well it sounds like they aren't being respectful in a conversation, but to each other they are connecting just fine.

Krauss actually handled this very well. Tyson is USED to being a lecturer. I have seen this happen so much in academics. Some PhDs are so used to being the dominating voices in a discussion. Tyson is OBVIOUSLY that, and full of good, illuminating knowledge. But Krauss, who is his equal, let his guest have his say and dominate the stage, as he should. This is actually quite promising for Kruass and his podcast.

to be fair, tyson is the interviewee. he's supposed to dominate the conversation. i can understand an exchange of ideas if they were co-interviewers/interviewees but this is based on Tyson's origin story, should Krauss have an equal amount of input? of course not. he does tend to interrupt people when theyre talking though. overall i always enjoy krauss related interviews. i immediately subscribed to this channel and will be watching as much content as i can.

24:54 NDT, "Oh, my God." Talk about irony. Neil deDumbass Tyson asked about the start of the universe and if he believes in God: Larry King, "Who started all this; do you believe in God?" Neil, "The proper question should be who or what started it, but I don't know. If I don't know I'm going to say I don't know." from the beginning of this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/rF7Uhmd8ZdGBnLc What we KNOW and have NO doubts about... Real science says nothing does nothing. Real science says if there was something there already it must fit with the evidence of what we know. We know the 1LT says there's a conservation of energy. It can change forms and neither can be created or destroyed. Creation cannot happen by natural means. The 2LT has various aspects, one being the universe is winding down, entropy. Usable energy is becoming less usable, so at one point usable energy was at its max. This all points to a supernatural creation, by a supernatural creator at a certain point in which matter, space and time were created. When I read how it can happen otherwise, ALL the fools resort to science-fiction. Once a supernatural creation is accepted, then the next step is finding proof of what supernatural power did it. Neil does not know BASIC science. Not only can't we have creation without God, Neil does not know that we also can't have science without God. The laws of nature can only come from a Lawgiver, God. Tyson says his crap at about 2:00 in the video below about the eye evolution. It is proven false in the rest of the video. But to dumbasses, to hell with details and what the evidence shows. I think that this has got to be one of the best conversations I've heard in years. This is something every science educator (or educator in general), science communicator, and student should watch. I think something like this would have been very illuminating and helpful to me 25 years ago when I was just starting out in college and working at a science museum. This is simply excellent. I am currently between jobs at the moment and I found this to be inspiring me to look again at the possibility of finding work in a nontraditional educational setting. It has been many years but the only time I ever felt truly fulfilled in a job was working in a science museum.

Mr Tyson's relating how he became interested in astronomy and what support he got (and didn't get) is for me the most interesting and useful talk he has given. There was a time when working men's lending libraries or public libraries kept a stock of books that would help any young man get on in any chosen profession. If there is no exposure to possibilities there can be no planting of seeds of ambition or hope. Today's teachers seem unable to direct or encourage self motivated students only to bore them.

That time Lawrence had to moderate a brawl between Tyson and Greene xD These two have such a great dynamic.. They both know that Lawrence is more versed in the field, but that Neil is far more poetic about discovery. Always a mild competitive tension.

Neil DeGrasse Tyson is amazing because he understands the troubles of learning when you don't have good teachers or educated parents. He tries to actually explain himself, his ideas, and how he came to think that way. I think it's a rare skill.

Some moments seem you are near shouting and beginning to fight and then you agree and make up and it's all fine! You take us out on a roller-coaster and this ride is amazing! Thank you both for "existing" and for being two of my favorite Podcaster, public speakers and men of science! Although my English language is very bad I hope you understand the meaning of this message! You are awesome men, amazing people, fantastic human beings and extraordinary in all senses! I'm watching a comedy. Your agenda is all that matters. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jmjLY3uNmLmql5Y He IS Neil deDumbass Tyson.

This one of the most interesting and intellectually stimulating conversations I've listen to between two of the greatest academics giants of our time. And despite Neil, who is absolutely bursting with enthusiasm, constantly interrupting you Lawrence, you remain composted. But then I guess that you have known each other for so long, debated together so often and are both on the same page, that's even more enjoyable to watch. You made a very poignant comment Lawrence at 1:29:11 when you said 'people shouldn't hold back if they want to relate to someone, It's a good idea to do so when you have the opportunity rather than later because you often regret it'. So I would like to take this opportunity, while I still can, to thank you both for promoting objectivity in a very entertaining way. You are both a breath of fresh air in these times of misinformation, fake news (although I don't like using that phrase now for obvious reasons 😉) and subjective opinions. Take care

On the robot vs. human going to space, I think the reason why we get more excited is that we can imagine ourselves in the place of the astronauts. Whereas it is hard to imagine ourselves in the place of robots. There is a reason why the robots go first because you don't explore uncharted territory with people, you can't have them thinking something bad could happen to them. So, in a way, I think it is the complete opposite of what Dr. Krauss is arguing. But I can see the appeal of his argument. We are very lucky to get to hear these conversations. Thanks to you both for educating.
