Neil writes over 90% of the songs he sings! Saw him in concert many times. Three hours of pure Heaven. No opening acts,no intermission no body sits. Everyone sings along…everyone knows all the words. Everyone loves Neil and he loves his audience!

Have been to so many of Neil’s concerts…ahhhmazing…every one! The last one was his 50th Anniversary concert that was cut short due to his diagnosis of Parkinson’s. Neil writes 99% of the songs he sings. Has been writing songs since he was 16. Incredible singer, songwriter, actor and human being!🔥❤️💎

Neil Diamond, a terrific songwriter and charismatic performer, with a very distinctive powerful voice and impeccable phrasing (you can actually understand every word he's singing). This man combines it all. Please react to other Neil Diamond songs, he has a huge catalogue to choose from (Solitary Man, Holly Holy, Brooklyn Roads, Soolaimon, Stones, Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show, Dry Your Eyes, I Am... I Said, Beautiful Noise, America, or even more recent gems like Pretty Amazing Grace and Hell Yeah). You don't get better than this!

Neil is one of my favorite singer songwriters spanning many decades. I had so many of his records. He had tons of hit songs. "I Am, I Said", "Cherry, Cherry", "Kentucky Woman", "Red Red Wine", "Solitary Man", "Shiloh", "Holly Holy", "Cracklin' Rosie", "Song Sung Blue", "Longfellow Serenade", "Desirée", "You Don't Bring Me Flowers" etc. I was privileged to see him in concert twice. He was a great showman & his live performances were memorable.

Neil Diamond is a legend whose music is timeless. In fact, if you Google 'who is "the Jewish Elvis"'... Neil's name pops up. It would be great if you would react to Neil and Barbra Streisand's duet "You Don't Bring Me Flowers"... there's a rare live performance of them doing the song at the 1980 Grammy Awards to an unsuspecting audience. It's considered a highlight in Grammy history and I think you'll love it. Barbra and Neil attended the same high school in Brooklyn and sang in the Chorus together. Really enjoy your reactions Dani.

Hi Dani from Dallas - I was in San Diego in the Navy when this came out. Crackling' Rosie was an inexpensive but popular WINE! So that is who the store bought woman was who could make him happy all night and set the world right! Pretty cool, Neil!

I owned this song as part of my collection of 45's while growing up. Had a number of Neil's songs in the collection. Dani, as you said he is a awesome story teller, my favorite style of vocalist. Many thanks for reminding viewers to support their favorite artists on KZbin. Much love.

Neil started writing songs when he was 16. He went door to door trying to sell them to other singers. Someone told him nobody should sing his songs but him! The rest is history!🔥❤️💎

He wrote this song after visiting an Indian Reservation. There is a widespread problem of alcoholism on the reservations and Cracklin Rose is the brand of wine (Very Cheap Wine). I believe there is a shortage of women there and the wine is their "Store Bought Women"

Lots of fun for sure, Dani. Neil had an amazing range of hits. I would suggest you try "Most of All." I consider it one of his very best. Much love coming back at you. ❤
