My wife and I have been married for 52 years. We got remarried on Mar 3, 2021. She gave me her Cinderella watch that she has had since she was a little girl to restore because I told her about this video. And thanks to you, Mr. Nekkid Watchmaker, we are now waiting for her order of both a new couch and lots of scatter cushions. But, she is the one that has always kept my mainspring wound and my heart ticks only for her.

Thank you for finally restoring a fine ladies watch, I'd appreciate seeing more of them. I'm just beginning my journey into Watchmaking/repairing, and I I see the greatest challenges to be found in these tiny movements. With practice, just about anyone can be trained to disassemble and reassemble a basic pocket watch. But as you increase the complexity and reduce the form factor (size), you begin to separate the hobbyists from the budding professionals. A 1mm screwdriver is miniscule, it boggles the mind (as do the screws), and having the hand control to accurately tweeze the parts and screws in these tiny movements, is something that takes years to perfect. The watch turned out spectacularly, and I hope that your wife was pleased with it. Take care of her, and fill her with beautiful things that you make (or restore) with your own hands. These are the gifts that have real meaning. I've been married for forty-three years, and I recently retired as an electrical engineer. I've always been fascinated by mechanical watch movements, so I'm expanding my bench to make room for a watch service/repair station. I'll be starting with a Maryland Railroad Pocket Watch, and I have a small box of of non working mechanical watches that belonged to my grandfather. There's enough in the box to keep me busy for several years.

I am in the process when things pick up with my business to learn out to work on clocks . Dear friends of ours gave my Mother an Anniversary clock years ago made in Germany. It has never worked and thought what the hell its not worth much why not learn how to learn how to repair clocks. So I bought a book on 400 day old clocks and have actually learned alot. I am hoping soon to be able to buy some more tools for clock making and get started. But my dream is to learn how to work on watches. I want to restore a Rolex . I went on ebay and found some non working Rolexs for cheap and very old ones . Saw an older womans Gold Rolex from the 40s if I remember right for $100.00 still bidding on it . You give me incentive to learn this trade . It is so mesmerizing to watch somebody tear one of these down and get them running again. I understand the passion.
