Still the most beautiful song I've ever heard. Found this maybe 15 years ago in a movie with Jason Statham. To this day, I still listen to this from beginning to end. Neli Andreeva has a voice of the Gods. A true Saint.

That movie with the song in it- nobody who performed, directed or recorded it got any credits from the use of the song in the movie. You can also hear our national music at the end of 300 (movie from 2006), The brothers Grimm (2005) and a few other big productions that gave 0 credits for the songs they used.

Every culture is unique but the music has universal language. The young girl (malka moma) wants to fall in love with a boy who is a match for her - obviously in old times all marriages were arranged by parents & grandparents ignoring the young people's desires. Translation: A young girl is praying to God: “Grant me, dear Lord, eyes of a dove. (x2) Grant me, dear Lord, wings of a falcon (x2) To fly over the white Danube river (x2) To find a boy who is match for me.” God heard her prayer. He gave her eyes of a dove And wings of a falcon. When God granted her wings of a falcon She found a boy who was a match for her. (x2) Dear Lord

It's too much... Too touching... I cannot keep my tears. I have no idea about lyrics but this is one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard in my life... I'm a Turkish guy and my whole family was in Bulgaria until 1989 and in 1989, they moved to Turkey. I was born right after this migration. I don't speak Bulgarian but my whole family still speaks it and my mom was singing this song to me when I was a small child "hubava si, moja goro." She was singing just because of the melody maybe but I always loved this song. Now I am a young singer in Europe and I have many colleagues from Bulgaria. When I meet them, we sing that song together... Even if I am not Bulgarian, for me these lands are magical, mystical and this music pulls me deeply... Thanks to Neli Andreeva and this amazing choir and the power of folk music in all the nations! Music gathers us and makes us unique. I hope to be there again and feel this magic and also sing with you...

Ah sorry, now it's clear. Thank you for being so kind my brother but don't be sad or don't feel that. Everything has passed. Every nation made and will make mistakes. Even today, horrible news surrounded us. Something bad is still going on, someone is still trying to make us enemies or murderers. Knowing history is so good but carrying the burden of our fathers is non sense. The age is different, situations are totally different. Anyway, this can be a long speech and I don't wanna do that under this angelic song and performance. It's so beautiful because it takes us out from this World and touches our senses and at that point, no matter what, we are all together and unique! I am so thankful for your kindness. I wish you a good day! And... I want to visit beautiful Bulgaria as soon as possible! =)

Tenormind Dear Tenormind, I am thinking the same like " february now"...I do feel guilt about the way the Peple form the Bulgarian goverment in 1989 treated so many people living in Bulgaria. I lost some friends - really good friends of mine...Never saw them again ,and I do hope they are doing fine in Turkey. This song is beautiful and sad...it always reminds me how cruel can be the world, and how big can be the people's hearts!

You have a lot of Scottish, Welsh and English heritage which is rich in folklore. I'm saying this as a Serb. Someone with a UK, Canadian or US background will know more. The problem with Canada and I guess US is that economic climate in which many people live today means that communities have less importance to the existence of individuals, which means that a lot of traditions like songs have been lost because there has to be a community effort in maintaining traditions. Even though modern recording has enabled many traditions to survive beyond the life of said communities, songs and traditions need living communities.

No matter my feelings or what is going on in the world around me, every single time from the very first note I am just transported to a realm I can’t even begin to describe. A sacred place beyond human comprehension. How the harmonies seamlessly blend and the rhythms undulate, this music awakens areas inside of me I didn’t know I had. The inner tranquility I feel is like a still lake, only roused by small ripples; a place far away from reality, only tangible through these surreal voices. Thank you for this ethereal piece of music, and I hope it reaches the hearts of many more, as it has for me.

+Wellinton Duarte A young maiden is praying to God:“Grant me, dear Lord, pigeon eyes. Grant me, dear Lord, wings of a falcon To fly over the white Danube river To find a boy who is match for me.”God heard her prayer. He gave her pigeon eyes And wings of a falcon. When God granted her wings of a falcon She found a boy who was match for her. Lord
