what balances this champ is that using any spell from a certain spellbook puts that whole category on cooldown (and the cooldowns are quite long) so you really have to think about what abilities to use and you cant just get everything his kit has to offer at once

Love how 99% of the playerbase literally cannot understand that the game NEEDS both easy and complicated characters to play. That is the most user friendly experience possible. If there were no easy champs then no new players will want to play the game. If there werent any hard champs then nobody would play this game for more than a few months

I guess the main thing the playerbase cannot understand is what exactly is the point of making champions with no weaknesses. What you think is gonna be his weakness? He has self peel through fear, self shielding/speed increase, and slow on his q and ult if he ever finds itself in a bad position. It does not matter if he gets behind because he will have loads of utility and control for his team. He has mana regen built in his kit. He has percent hp in his kit.

It designed to only be good for finishing off targets, so the players actually have to use the lower range spells to poke/trade, instead of spamming the brainless high range ability on a short cooldown. The player having to decide between when to use what is the weakness. Using QE to clear the wave? Now u cant trade anymore. Using WE to regen mana? Now u have no shield to take burst or no MS to escape a gank. Using EE to get a trade? Now u have no way to disengage if the enemy is a zed/qiyana/talon or if u get ganked. He has no mobility outside of WQ and hes super squishy. Anything with damage and mobility will be able to shut him down

@@tomdaboss2885 You missed the part where his qq has max hp percent? What stops him from spamming that until getitng the enemy to half hp and then spamming the qw which deals missing hp? You use qe to clear wave? Ofc you cant trade, no champion that uses abilities to clear waves does, just back until cd is up, it is a 6 sec cd ability without haste. You used WE to regen mana? Does not matter if you dont have the shield, either play back for a little or remember that you have a built in fear. If you play against zed/qiyana/talon you would need to be bronze to use your disengage tool to try to get damage out of them. Is their job to try to kill you as fast as they can and yours to survive. They lose by default once you got zhonya. Outside of gold elo the best way for assasins to get any kill at all is to roam but he has swain e built in. All the weaknesses you gave are only when he is used by bad players who dont know to play around ability cooldowns or other champions. He has all the tools needed to shut down assasins and tanks alike.

Being an Invoker main, I can say for sure, this isn't hard to play. Less spells than Invoker and they don't have individual cooldown like Invoker's spells have. And don't forget that League don't have the amount of active items to use like DotA. Ah, and of course, don't forget about Refresher. An item in DotA that make all your spells and items reset their cooldown. But it will be fun to have an Invoker Jr in LoL.

Hwei is presented in a really complex way, but it's just that he has 3 variations of Q, W, and E. All of them have straightforward effects with hopefully no hidden passives (like how Akshan has an essay of passives). So at any time he only has 3 basic abilities like other characters, but he can choose 1 out of 3 each time he uses them. Definitely more on the higher end of the skill spectrum, but not "wow insane" like people make him out to be. But the average joe will never open a wiki for 5 minutes to read up on what he does so they're going to get caught out time and again without trying to learn.
