Hello! I'm Andy - a semi-professional singer-songwriter from the UK, based in Germany. I'm a solo artist as well as vocalist of a rock band. I also teach English Language at university level, and this semester, due to covid-19 restrictions forcing an online semester on us, I did a special online version of my course "The Language of Songwriting."
Alongside a bunch of songwriting challenges, part of the final project included the option of making a reaction/review video to a song that my students particularly enjoy, discussing what elements of the song(writing) are special to them. I never give out tasks I'm not willing to do myself, so I recorded one of my own (Ghost Love Score by Nightwish, also on my channel). I put it on KZbin for fun to see whether there was interest in this kind of video, and I was really pleasantly surprised at the positive responses! So I've gone ahead and made some more!
In contrast to the many wonderful reactors out there, I'm reviewing a song I already know well. My reactions, therefore, are not as spontaneous or sensational as those of professional reactors ;-) Would you like more? If I'm not mistaken, Tarja was pregnant when she recorded the Act I DVD. It would be really cool if you could review the whole show. It is a very good show! There is a playlist on Tarja's channel here on KZbin containing the entire Act I.

Please review Oasis from the same concert in Argentina. It`s an original, Tarja wrote it and plays the piano, performing alone. Beautiful song.

One reason for the difference in bass tone is that the second bassist is playing fingerstyle, whereas Marko almost invariably plays with a pick. (And, of course, the second bass isn't a Warwick...) Despite being a confirmed Floor fanboy, one thing I do miss about Tarja is her accent. It was one of the things that endeared me to Nightwish early on. Re: the solo version being 'busier' - I think that just goes to highlight the way Tuomas (our metal Mozart) echoes the alleged words of the real Mozart: "there are exactly the right number of notes". It works with the idea that everything Nightwish does is in service to the song, not to their egos.

Oh, heh, that's a lot of Nemos! Cool idea. I certainly do like to listen my fav songs played by other artists too, in addition to the original performer, nothing bad in covers, quite the opposite, I follow several metal cover vocalists/bands in KZbin. What comes to Tarja's Nemo performances in Nightwish, End of an Era (again) is not my favorite, it's alright, but I prefer Download, Taubertal and Lowlands concerts over this. I follow Tarja's solo career and she has plenty of songs and performances I love, but this Nemo performance, I don't like it, I don't like how Tarja sings it. It lost the intensity and rhythm of her usual Nemo performances and sounds stretched, lazy. I do like her singing bel canto style with vibrato and legato and I dig her classical singing very much so, but this didn't sound beautiful nor did it fit the song. And in the end she goes more operatic than normal. She often has different takes on songs, both her own songs and Nightwish songs. Terrano often takes a big role in drums, he likes to show off, and in intense spirited rock songs it is quite fine, but if one watches for example the Beauty and the Beat tour, then his drumming comes too strong and disturbing a few times.
