Hello! I'm Andy - a semi-professional singer-songwriter from the UK, based in Germany. I'm a solo artist as well as vocalist of a rock band. I also teach English Language at university level, and this semester, due to covid-19 restrictions forcing an online semester on us, I did a special online version of my course "The Language of Songwriting."
Alongside a bunch of songwriting challenges, part of the final project included the option of making a reaction/review video to a song that my students particularly enjoy, discussing what elements of the song(writing) are special to them. I never give out tasks I'm not willing to do myself, so I recorded one of my own (Ghost Love Score by Nightwish, also on my channel). I put it on KZbin for fun to see whether there was interest in this kind of video, and I was really pleasantly surprised at the positive responses! So I've gone ahead and made some more!
In contrast to the many wonderful reactors out there, I'm reviewing a song I already know well. My reactions, therefore, are not as spontaneous or sensational as those of professional reactors ;-) Would you like more? I don't like how much she changes the melodies. That was my biggest disappointment when I saw them live in 2007 or 2008. But that's just me 🙂

Anette, i love her Meadows in Heaven or Slow love Slow. But for Nightwish? And then the problem, the Singer between Tarja and Floor. Two of the best female Singer of our Lifetime. 🤔 tricky or not possible. But i followed her with Dark Element.

I don't like the Montreaux version, much better the acoustic one, but I suspect we will see in the next days another acoustic version. Spoiler: I'll like much more that one. I agree with you she sound better in slow songs, in Slow Love Slow I also found her amazine...but also in more metal songs written for her, she did a really good job.

Yes the acoustic one is really nice, it might have been nice to have done a song written for her as well, she didn't sound too bad here its rare to find a recording of her not being ill unfortunately.

I like Anette singing Nemo acoustically but I don’t think there’s a full recording unless I can’t find it... I think acoustic stuff is her thing. I love her tone tbh.

Anette was a good connecting with the audience, she chatted with them more than any other band member, and her "hep, hep, hep" -cheering is well known. I don't think Nemo was a good song for Anette. Much better for her "Eva," "The Poet and the Pendulum", "Slow Love Slow," "Cadence of Her Last Breath," "Meadows of Heaven,"" and "Escapist" for ecample. Unfortunately with "Eva" like so many Anetter era videos, no official video, no good audience recorded ones, but there's one where audio comes well enough and it's one of my Anette favs. Another of my fav Anette songs "The Heart Asks Pleasure First" never played live, "Meadows of Heaven" only once played live, fortunately Anette sang it in Stockholm with symphony orchestra and there's a video of that. Tuomas shelves some of the songs for reasons not known, some he said were too personal.

And yeah, I would pick the acoustic one too, and it was not bad. But not good enough to be among my Anette favs.
