You’ve got to check out “ BAND-MAID - Warning! “.They’re also an all female Japanese band but with Hard Rock as their core sound with elements of metal, funk, pop, jazz and blues. Similarly excellent musicianship, good vocals and a genius songwriter at their core. They have a massive catalogue with 100+ tracks covering an extensive amount of subgenres in Rock/Metal. They’ve been dropping an album almost every year since their debut and Warning! Is off their latest album released just a month back.

Japan has an amazing metal scene so many talented bands. Not a fan of Babymetal, however they were an introduction for many into Japanese metal.

Founded 2019. Supergroup composed of: Mary's Blood guitarist Saki ex-Lipstick vocalist Mayu ex-Disqualia guitarist Hazuki ex-Hölderlins bassist Haraguchi-san, and ex-Soramimi drummer Muratatam.) This started off as a side project, co-organized by Saki and Mayu. It is fair to say that other than Saki, none of them had been with a breakout band, despite having insane chops. Putting these five together clearly was the trick-they are just exploding. They initially did a bunch of metal covers of well-known rock, pop and metal songs, and posted them on youtube. Murata Tamu has been famous for a long time. She was a child prodigy Jane is an amazing jazz fusion drummer. She is a hugely busy session drummer who has seemingly worked with everyone.

@@powbobs Yes, she is very busy and well regarded. She has also anchored for many years the NAONのYAON ending guitar jam session. But this is the first time she is with a real group that are all so top notch. She has earned it. You can see in the Nemophila videos that the girls all know they are on to something special!

You've been asking, so I can say, that their age is between 23 (Hazuki - to the left with Ibanez, Haraguchi-san - bass, Mayu - vocals) and 28 (Saki - to the right with Killer, Tamu Murata - drums). Band have wide range of styles, Dissension is the haviest, so as next usualy fans recommend Oiran and Raitei. This band have no bad songs.

I saw somewhere Mayu is 27, and Hazuki has been doing this for a living for quite a while, I'd put her at around the same too. I don't think it matters much, young as they are, they've all been playing instruments for 15 to 20 years or more! they all have "known" band experience and Saki and Tamu are well known industry pros. The weak link initially was Mayu's ability to pull this off live. In typical Japanese fashion she worked very hard to make sure she could and the result is spectacular. Catch them live or "online live" if you can, you'll be glad you did.

What that really means is we don't know, and I don't really care, and young Japanese women would rather no one knew except their family and close friends. My point was they have all been playing instruments and singing for a long time, they aren't newbies.

Thank you for reacting to my favorite band! These ladies are gifted and blessed! Their originals are metal but there covers range from pop to rock to metal. Mayu voice is very versatile. I will echo others below in saying next original i would like to hear is Oiran, Raitei or Sorai.

Great reaction to the girls they are something special all virtuoso musicians with 7 original songs to date (there working on more) and a host of kick ass covers .And they dont just do super heavy like this .Suggest Raitei next there other MV or Oiran in the practise room .Formed just before lock down and the drummer Tamu had some time of to have a baby as well . Dissension is there newest original .Subscribe to them as they put up song most Fridays and there always awesome.

Found these ladies in early 2020 and have fallen in love with their music and performances. Raitei is another good mv to check out. Not sure what you are saying about Babymetal as they are one of the top metal bands in the world right now and have many heavy songs. Matter of fact Saki the guitarist on the right of this video is a huge Babymetal fan. Their cover of the Babymetal song Megitsune is great.

Baby Metal is a corporate idol group though. It’s a gimmick band focusing on very young girls screaming. That’s why many people don’t like them. Kami band is great though.

@@powbobs holy shit Babymetal screams?? Idol yes, corporate yes, free to like or dislike yes. Does not change the fact the band is huge and talented as hell, not just the Kamis but everyone involved. As for a gimmick band that is old and tired. If they were just a gimmick they would not be around and going strong 11 years in. Saki herself is a massive Babymetal fan as is tons of top metal bands.
